I've been wanting to host a website using my jamesmcardle.eth ENS domain name, however I found it extremely annoying to have to pay for gas each time I updated my ENS domain with a new content hash on IPFS. I worked out a solution which I think is quite flexible.

Firstly I created a html page and uploaded it to pinata. The index.html file I created had a simple redirect to a domain that I own, [jamesmcardle.au](http://jamesmcardle.au)

Then I updated my ENS domain with the contact hash as per below (note this step requires gas. I recommend making a bunch of changes all in one go to save on gas)

Once that transaction completed (checking on etherscan) when I navigate to [jamesmcardle.eth.limo](http://jamesmcardle.eth.limo) my html file will trigger and navigate to [jamesmcardle.au](http://jamesmcardle.au).

Finally, the last step was to go to my domain settings and set a domain forward to my desired web2 host. In this case it's my read.cv profile, [jmcardle.read.cv](http://jmcardle.read.cv)

The beauty of this is that I can now just update my domain forward settings on my Google Domain without any need to adjust my ENS and incurring gas costs.
