Tech Consulting Company 2022
Role: Business Development
Overview:
This story is about my adventure at Teckstar, a company that helped match companies with developers. Unlike my previous jobs, I stumbled upon Teckstar through a lucky encounter with its founder at an event. We hit it off, and within a month, I was part of the team, diving into the world of business development. My journey at Teckstar was filled with learning, growth, and stepping out of my comfort zone to make the business better.
Starting Out:
I met the founder by chance, and our connection was instant. This led to me starting my role in business development, a new challenge for me. Teckstar had the largest team I'd ever been part of, and I was eager to contribute. My work ranged from consulting on design, enhancing the branding, to kick-starting a rebranding process that, unfortunately, didn't see completion. I also optimized business processes and established a sales flow, always aiming to leave a mark.
Challenges:
Every day at Teckstar brought new challenges. From the start, I knew I was venturing into unknown territory. My main task was to help grow the company from a different angle, focusing on the business side rather than the main outstaffing service. This meant I had to quickly understand the ins and outs of the business, work on branding, and even dabble in sales during events. Trying to launch a new branch for creating MVPs (Minimum Viable Products) was an ambitious project that didn't take off as hoped, teaching me valuable lessons about timing and market readiness.
Lessons Learned:
My time at Teckstar was a crash course in adaptability, teamwork, and innovation. I learned the importance of getting along with the team and contributing wherever possible. This experience pushed me out of my comfort zone, showing me how much I could improve in just five months. The attempt to start a new branch for MVPs, despite not fully succeeding, taught me about the challenges of expanding a business and the need for clear direction and market demand.
Moving On:
Deciding to leave Teckstar was tough. I thoroughly enjoyed my time and the people there. However, I felt the need to commit fully to Blureo, my next venture. My departure from Teckstar marked the end of a significant chapter in my career but also the beginning of a new journey. I left with invaluable experiences and lessons that would undoubtedly shape my future endeavors.
Conclusion:
My time at Teckstar was more than a job; it was a period of immense personal and professional growth. It taught me the significance of teamwork, the courage to step into the unknown, and the resilience to bounce back from setbacks. My experiences at Teckstar have equipped me with a broader perspective on business development and an appreciation for the challenges of growing a startup. I'm grateful for the lessons learned and the opportunities it provided to expand my horizons.
