Multisearch Searchbox for Google App at Google

After the launch of Multisearch, the obvious next step was integrating this as part of core search. I single-handedly crafted multisearch searchbox interaction/spatial model and then led the team of designers (interaction, visd, motion, uxr) to enable integration process.

This was quite complex, high-risk project as we're touching Google Searchbox - we're talking about a lot of higher stakeholder's interests and potential revenue impacts.

I successfully navigated cross team review process and got alignment in time - part of reason why was the prototype (Origami) that I built for user testing. It proved the new model vastly improved user perception/comprehension.

This feature launched Apr 2023 and rolled out globally.

2022

First multimodal search - enabling text + image query to further enable complex, rather arbitrary questions such as finding a way to fix the item you don't know how to describe.

I led the team of multi-function designers while crafting initial vision to get approval from SVP (prabhakar raghavan). Laying out the first ever multisearch flow at Google Search.
