About
I am Finn. UX Engineer in the intersection between human-computer interaction and web development. I am currently focusing on the following topics, both professionally and in my Master's degree in Media Informatics: Accessible and inclusive living environments, multimodal user interfaces, implementable design and web standards.
Projects
Travelling by public transport poses a particular challenge for neurodivergent people. Overstimulation caused by large crowds of people and last-minute changes to the timetable place a heavy burden on this group of people and exclude them from affordable and climate-friendly mobility. Our conceptually developed system is a companion in such overwhelming situations, offering individualised and situation-dependent support and alternatives. Values such as autonomy and strengthening self-confidence were particularly important in the design process, with the aim of not making users dependent on the system.
This thesis investigated barriers encountered by individuals, both with and without impairments, within technical and social systems. It delved into the multidimensional discourse surrounding the causes of these barriers, with a focus on human-computer interaction and philosophies guiding accessibility in design processes. Practical implementation occurred within the voluntary musical association Junges Musical Leverkusen e. V., where a ticket sales system was scrutinized for potential barriers through analytical presentation and empirical examination, including interviews with individuals with diverse impairments. Design recommendations were subsequently formulated, with consideration given to user benefits and feasibility for the organization.
