Projects
The landscape of software development is swiftly evolving with the integration of AI, impacting both the role of developers and the structure of software development organizations. Our goal is to create a product that assists companies in recruiting developers in this emerging AI-driven environment.
I am spearheading this one of HackerRank's most significant cross-functional projects, which stands as a pivotal and highly prioritised initiative for the company in 2024.
After completing a year at HackerRank, I advanced to the role of Product Designer 2, where my responsibilities included:
• Spearheading the design efforts for one of HackerRank's flagship products, known as Interviews (CodePair).
---Notably, our work in Interviews has proven invaluable for approximately ~70k returning qualified developers from top companies in the world, having 154k interviews being conducted in a week, with a weekly base of 25k returning users.
• Single handedly worked on the dark mode for HackerRank Design System.
• Contributing to the team's growth by actively participating in the interviewing and hiring processes, where I also served as a core member of the design team on the hiring panel.
• Additionally, helping with design for any cross-functional teams like People Ops to articulate onboarding kits, quarterly newsletter, giveaways, etc.
After my rewarding experience at Senseforth, I embarked on my next adventure with HackerRank as a Product Designer 1. It was a leap I never imagined making, transitioning from a non-technical background to joining a developer-centric company.
During my initial year at HackerRank, I played a role of a floater, helping anyone and everyone with anything in design. This diverse experience played a pivotal role in shaping the domain expertise I possess today.
My responsibilities included:
• Owned the design requirements from the Enterprise and Data Analytics team for the B2B platform of HackerRank.
• Owned Big Rock projects like Increasing NPS (Net Promoter Score) for HackerRank.
---Got an opportunity to work in cross-functional team and learned quite new concepts like self serve, free trial, different analytical tool like Pendo, Fullstory, Looker, mainly the business and number aspect for a company.
• Interviewed and hired new talent on the team.
P.S. Candidate Experience being my biggest project that I led from start to end.
As we all know, first experiences are like opening a treasure chest – they can be packed with learning gems or shower you with unexpected blessings. My adventure at Senseforth was a delightful mix of both, as it marked my grand entrance into the design industry. Instead of just being a run-of-the-mill UI Designer, I got to strut my stuff as a full-fledged 'Designer.
Explored projects from every angle and direction:
• From designing an end-to-end experience of the companies core tool named - A.ware with ownership of research till deployment. And Re-designing the experience for the companies website with the team.
• To Owning and Designing the marketing deliverables such as Pre-Sales Deliverables for the POC's, Chatbot Interfaces, etc.
Came a long way..." 🫶 🚀
Side Projects
The journey began with a heartfelt gesture: gifting a Forbes magazine-style portrait to the Director of Product Management at HackerRank during his farewell. This creative spark ignited the inception of the 'Spotlight' section for our in-house newsletter. With each quarterly edition, we transformed the concept and design, tailoring it to spotlight one outstanding employee. The result was an email newsletter that continuously pushed the boundaries of creativity and engagement.
I'm an avid Starbucks enthusiast, and this project was my personal interpretation of Starbucks' iconic branding. Crafting a vibrant tribute to one of my favorite coffee experiences.
Writing
"Let Go of Who You Think You’re Supposed to Be and Embrace Who You Are."
If this sounds all too familiar, I have just one thing to say — give yourself permission to create a “shitty first draft”, or “shitty first design mock.” It’s perfectly fine if things aren’t flawless right out of the gate.
The world already presents plenty of challenges; there’s no need to add to them by being hard on yourself.
So I am writing this one for you, but more for me.
A piece to help everyone out there to be able to explain the value of a Design System to your non-design CXO which can make your pitch unforgettable.
In my opinion, whether you’re a designer or any other corporate worker, mastering the skill of documentation is crucial.
~ .. tried and tested by people with an utter level of document OCD.
A Book Review Blog! I never imagined myself writing one. But isn’t life full of surprises and unexpected twists and turns? Here you all go with my 1st one.
Just a piece close to my heart, reminding the lessons I have discovered along the way.
