Taxfyle provides online tax preparation, consultation, and bookkeeping services, connecting individuals, businesses, and firms with certified CPA and EA professionals.

As design lead, I co-designed and co-wrote this startup's new website. I played a key role in updating the brand style guide during a comprehensive rebranding initiative, aimed at strengthening their online market presence as the “Internet’s Accounting Workforce.”

I led the redesign and architecture of Taxfyle's native mobile app, earning a 4.7 out of 5 star app store rating at launch. The app has since been featured on [FOX News](https://www.foxbusiness.com/video/6130077260001#sp=show-clips), and has had several “[App of the Day](https://apps.apple.com/us/story/id1551843880)” features and [promos](https://apps.apple.com/us/story/id1670519581).

RMW Accounting offers customised accounting, tax, and consulting services for individuals and businesses, focusing on tax strategy and financial planning. Founded during the COVID-19 pandemic, they provide support across the U.S. for clients at all stages of development — from startup; rapid growth and expansion; to transition.

Acting as the design lead and UX writer, I led the design and launch of RMW Accounting’s website, participating in several rounds of Maze user testing to finalise brand direction.

Cutting edge accounting with a personal touch

PathPortal provides doctors with the ability to verify whether a valid lab test result already exists for a patient, before proceeding to order a new test; thereby saving Funders and patients millions of Rands per annum.

During my time at [Sebrio](https://sebrio.com/), I utilised Google’s established Material Design framework to architect and design the entire responsive web platform. I also collaborated closely with developers to ensure pixel perfection, documented all designs and assisted in Quality Assurance (QA) testing where necessary.

Rapid diagnosis of lab test results

Co-designed Taxfyle’s first free income tax calculator, which helps users estimate their tax refund or liability, and considers various factors such as marital status, dependents, rental income, mortgage and student loan interest.

With it’s successful launch in 2020, the mobile app scored an average rating of 4.7 out of 5 stars on both the [App Store](https://apps.apple.com/me/app/taxfyle-income-tax-calculator/id1530086893) and Google [Play Store](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.taxfyle.TaxTools&hl=en_ZA&pli=1) respectively.

The South African Chef’s Academy offers internationally recognised City & Guilds Certifications, and strives to provide practical courses for chefs, by chefs, without the added extras that are not relevant to the kitchen.

As the freelanced designer responsible for this webpage design, I ensured that this singular landing page was packed to the brim with all the much needed course information, whilst establishing a timeless, brand aesthetic.

Practical courses for chefs, by chefs

During the “Live UX Design with art director Sallie Harrison 1/3” live-stream held on September 12, 2017, participants globally were challenged to use Adobe XD to design and create a fictional app, with at least 3 artboards, based on the theme of “shopping”.

Within the 2 hour submission period, I designed the winning e-commerce app, that was hand picked by Product Designer, Sallie Harrison on [Adobe Live](https://www.youtube.com/live/ovElx5s04Hk?si=3Hn_qb0KievVtSxU&t=6528), where the prize included a full year Adobe Creative Cloud license, worth approximately $600.

Shop it all through this e-commerce app

During an Adobe livestream held on March 13th, 2018, participants from all around the world were challenged to design a “Social Media app” with a minimum of 3 artboards/designs, using the provided Dark UI Kit.

Within the 2 hour submission period, I created DesignerInspo; a social media, and networking platform aimed at connecting designers together. This winning design was hand selected by internally recognised designer, Pablo Stanley, and has since been featured across multiple websites including [Adobe Live](https://www.youtube.com/live/iUT2vTeJGPs?si=lHwgHue0oW51kRxO&t=6726), [Gitu](https://gitu.net/de/details/xd-social-media-app-designerinspo-freebie), [PSD Repo](https://psdrepo.com/free-psd/xd-social-media-app-designerinspo-freebie/), [XD Guru](https://www.xdguru.com/designerinspo-xd-social-media-app/) and [XD File](https://xdfile.com/designerinspo-designers-social-media-app-xd-template/) with over 900 downloads combined.

In order to keep creative juices flowing, these are a collection of design challenges based on randomised product prompts.

* Led the design and architecture of the company’s own business management solution for SMBs, OIBIS, spanning multiple business apps including: Security, Human Resources, Leave and Timesheet management.

* Redesigned website and registration app for MOBE4U; a timesheet management service.

* Sole designer for the visionary healthcare application AMY, as demoed at the 2016 InterSystems Global Summit held in Phoenix, Arizona.

* Sole designer and co-developer for C&M OrthoSports responsive website.

* Crafted web apps for MedTech clients such as Ampath, Johnson & Johnson, and InterSystems Corporation.

Senior Graphic Designer

* Led and mentored a fully remote, international design team and improved processes that increased team output by 68%.

* Built a comprehensive and sustainable design system for a fully responsive client portal, tailored for B2C users and B2B2C partners.

* Transformed and optimized UI/UX for bookkeeping, consultation and tax filing services, into an elegant user experience; earning a platform rating of 4.68 out of 5 stars in 2024.

* Solely responsible for designing responsive, web-based applications for US-based companies including: LangManager, J2 Interactive and InterSystems Corporation.

* Co-designed Parameds, World Medical Bank, (WMB) web application for MedTech industry.

* Designed a web-based taxi fleet management application for AssureNet, and established branding for ClaimSpace, ClearView and RiskOutlook services.

* Sole designer for Ride Radar and Ride Ravager native mobile apps for Android and iOS.

* Designed fully responsive websites for UMass Medical School, Valuables Properties, MFM Radio, and Ready Computing.

* Co-ordinated Google AdWords marketing campaigns to promote Sebrio’s own product, Mobe4U.

Graphic Designer and Front-End Developer

* Spearheaded the redesign of Taxfyle’s native mobile app in 2018; winning multiple “[App of the day](https://apps.apple.com/us/story/id1551843880)” App Store features. This together with a new web portal, website redesign and rebranding effort, drove an increased revenue growth of 4,300% within three years, positioning this startup as one of Fortune 500‘s fastest-growing companies in America. 

* Co-designed and launched the “Income Tax Calculator” app in 2020, for both the App Store and Google Play Store, scoring an average rating of 4.7 out of 5 stars.
