Situated in a tropical area of heavy rainfall, the Water House is a healing space that is inspired by ancient bathhouses. Though most dwellings are built to shield inhabitants from rainwater, we have designed the Water House to embody the philosophy that water should be embraced. In the Water House, water permeates the inhabitant's daily, lived experience, symbolizing the acceptance of and connection to nature as the most intuitive healing property.

The central water vessel is designed to be a space of healing. Light generously pours through an opening in the roof, and rainwater falls into the shower, a sacred space for renewal and a reawakening of the senses. Sonically, water trickles down the black metal plates that enclose the surface, producing music that purifies the mind and soothes the soul.

The Water House

**Abstract**

Hybrid practices are emerging that integrate creative material elements such as paint, clay, and cloth with intangible immaterials like computation, electricity, and heat...We explore electric heat within the space of Thermoreactive Composites (TrC), a class of objects composed of a thermoreactive material and a heat-generating element. We develop a maker-friendly fabrication pipeline and design tool that allows users to compose electric heat spatially and temporally using printed silver-ink joule heaters for a range of thermoreactive materials.

First product designer hired early senior year of college ~20 employees, joined 8 months later, and left around ~3K employees; interviewed directly with CEO and CTO in senior year of university. 

Helped set up hiring process and built design team of 6 interviewing hundreds of candidates from Series A to Series D. Samsara IPO’d two years later.

Led design for four core product areas: Routing & Dispatch, Messaging & Documents, for both desktop and mobile, all later enveloping under Core Fleet. First two projects alone generated $4MM in deals within a month.

Built the foundations of Cloud design system, documenting components and working with engineering to implement them into Storybook
