I designed a recipe experience that’s a little-bit Yummly, a little-bit Reddit, and a little-bit Genius. I applied a human-centered lens to the recipe landscape to boost an iterative approach towards the perfect recipes and the future of cooking and baking.
The site aspires to be the central aggregation of recipes, with commerce connections, a universal recipe entry form, and an API for recipes to live anywhere on the web. Through an inviting and interactive experience, users can search by recipe and quickly see which one is rated the best. Users can suggest substitutes and others can vote these up or down.
Search functionality is deep and robust (I love designing search interfaces). In addition, users can search by recipe or ingredients—making use of what’s on hand in the best possible way. Connections to browsing and purchase history will yield additional suggestions.
