**The Role**

We believe that small, collaborative, and cross-functional teams are best equipped to ship the most optimal project outcomes. Within these teams, Design Directors take a principled approach to crafting the visual language and brand experience across our engagements.

As Design Director, you’ll guide teams in concepting and creatively defining the work we produce, from how it functions to how it feels. You’ll lead and inspire visual designers and product designers to produce work that prioritizes innovation over convention, helping our clients bring innovative new digital experiences to market. Applying your expertise in design systems, user experience, interaction, typography, and brand, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the work we ship is exceptional in every way. You’re skilled in brand design, comfortably starting from nothing or leading re-brand work.This is a hands-on role, leading projects from ideation through deployment, while managing, mentoring, supporting, and collaborating with a cross-functional team.

Ideal candidates will have experience working in a digital agency or consultancy environment, with deep expertise at the intersection of brand design and digital product. Your ability to produce work of the highest quality will be clearly demonstrated through a portfolio of work that communicates your strategic approach and your commitment to craft.

**What You'll Do**

* Lead, manage, and empower cross-functional teams to produce exceptional work

* Guide the design process bringing together strength in brand, UX, and UI

* Define project goals and objectives that go beyond the brief

* Drive concepting and ideation in pursuit of innovative approaches and solutions

* Guide the craft of projects that require greater hands-on design direction

* Lead client workshops, presentations, pitches, and reviews

* Develop and build positive and trusting relationships with client-side colleagues

**What You'll Bring**

* 10+ years experience leading design engagements in a digital agency or consultancy

* 3+ years experience leading, mentoring, and building design teams

* Exceptional portfolio of work for notable brands demonstrating mastery of skill and craft

* Expertise in visual design, user experience, UI patterns, typography, grids, brand design, and design systems with a focus on digital product, brand experience, and e-commerce

* Natural ability to communicate, present, and gain buy-in internally and with clients

* Familiarity with service design, design thinking, ideation workshops, and concept sprints

* Knowledge of usability, accessibility, SEO, analytics, and A/B testing

* Personal perspective on design’s ability to shape business, brands, and relationships

* Able to build trust through exceptional management skills, guiding internal and external communications with executive-level stakeholders

**The Role**

Within these teams, members of our Strategy group help to bring focus and direction, ensuring the work we produce is supported by principles, delivering on the needs and expectations of both end users and the business.

As Strategy Director, you'll lead engagements through research, concepting, and ideation, developing transformative digital solutions that help our clients achieve their goals. Under your guidance, you’ll inspire teams to deliver excellence, creating work of an exceptional level of quality in craft and execution. Staying informed on trends in business, technology, and culture, you’ll form trusted relationships with client partners, identifying new opportunities to add value in support of client growth objectives.

Ideal candidates will have extensive experience guiding strategic engagements and leading cross-functional teams in defining solutions for enterprise web, digital product, e-commerce, and new ventures. Candidates should have deep experience working with global brands and a portfolio of work that conveys a high bar for excellence in innovation and design.

**What You'll Do**

* Define the approach and methodology for project and program-level engagements under guidance

* Collaborate with Practice Leads and the Delivery team on project planning

* Develop briefs, requirements, and product roadmaps, and client presentations

* Guide teams towards a clear understanding of our clients, their business, and objectives

* Lead engagement across the full lifecycle both hands-on and in a management capacity

* Engage client-side stakeholders in workshops, presentations, and reviews

* Lead research from planning and facilitation to defining actionable insights

* Manage, mentor, and support recruitment of Strategy team members

* Support the continual improvement of the agency’s strategy capabilities and approaches

* Contribute to marketing and new business including thought leadership and events

**What You'll Bring**

* 8+ years experience in a digital agency or consulting environment

* 2+ years experience managing and leading teams

* A strong portfolio demonstrating skill, craft, thinking, and expertise

* Deep knowledge of digital platforms, devices, and technologies with specific focus on web, mobile, e-commerce, and digital product

* Experience with product strategy, service design, journey mapping, user experience, content strategy, information architecture, and interaction design

* Experience leading qualitative and quantitative research and distilling insights

* Confidence in engaging clients and leading workshops with senior level stakeholders

* Demonstrated strength in presenting, persuading, and selling through ideas

* A Bachelor’s degree or MBA preferred but not required with equivalent experience
