Description

Daybreak is looking for a senior designer to join our brand team. We are looking for an exceptionally talented individual to either join us at our Toronto HQ or remotely from anywhere in the world.

As a Senior Designer you will be recognized as a pivotal leader, playing a key role in advancing our craft, fostering collaboration, and contributing to decision-making processes. Your responsibilities will extend to mentoring junior designers and ensuring a consistent high level of polish.

Given our rapid growth as a studio, there is ample opportunity for progression into a more expansive leadership position.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the brand team in driving work from concept to delivery.

  • Transform client visions into tangible design solutions.

  • Provide constructive guidance and mentorship to junior designers

  • Elevate ideas through thoughtful refinement and creative decision-making.

  • Persuasively present concepts to various stakeholders and incorporate feedback.

  • Apply strategic insight to enhance design work.

  • Develop and manage internal design systems and processes.

  • Contribute to talent growth, including interns and recruitment efforts.

  • Champion innovation, exploring new tools and visual approaches.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of design experience including 2+ years at an agency.

  • Proven track record of rolled-out brands and projects that can be seen in your portfolio.

  • Desirable aesthetics and an eye for detail.

  • A strong mastery of visual design with an exceptional grasp on the fundamentals: type, color and composition.

  • Exceptional communication and people skills with the ability to deliver compelling design rationales in both client and internal design reviews.

  • Ability to set up design workflows and processes

  • Knowing how to clarify design decisions, adapt to new findings, iterate and improve solutions.

  • Experience with mentoring and supporting junior designers both within and outside of the creative discipline.

  • Desire to make an impact on the industry and push creative boundaries by exploring different mediums and creative techniques.

  • Bonus: you have expertise in one of the following between web design, motion design, coding, and 3D design
