Daybreak is looking for an associate creative director to join our brand team. We are looking for an exceptionally talented individual who can join us at our Toronto HQ or work remotely from anywhere in the world.

As an Associate Creative Director, you're the heartbeat of our creative ethos, guiding the brand team with your leadership, creativity, and technical skills. This role is not just about overseeing projects; it's about pioneering new practices, fostering an environment of collaboration, and pushing the boundaries of what's possible.

Responsibilities:

  • Creative Development: Play a pivotal role in steering our creative endeavours through strong visual execution, experimentation, and maintaining an exceptionally high visual standard in all projects.

  • Techniques and Processes: Spearheaded the development and optimization of internal design systems and processes, setting new benchmarks for operational efficiency. Champion technological innovation and creative exploration, staying ahead of the curve with new tools such as leveraging AI.

  • Strategic Collaboration: Lead a multi-disciplinary team to execute creative projects that meet client and user goals.

  • Entrepreneurial Leadership: Drive internal efficiency and client business growth. Oversee research, brand strategy development, and the creation of compelling digital experiences that align with client visions and market demands.

  • Project Leadership & Oversight: Manage a diverse portfolio of projects, ensuring all work is on-brief, creatively exceptional, and technologically innovative. Lead the team in crafting narratives that articulate the impact and value of our solutions.

  • Mentorship & Team Growth: Foster an environment of creativity, innovation, and learning. Provide directional guidance and mentorship to the design team, encouraging a culture of innovative thinking and creative experimentation. Actively contribute to the professional development of team members and lead recruitment initiatives to attract & retain top-tier talent.

  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring satisfaction and identifying opportunities for partnership expansion. Skillfully present and advocate for concepts to stakeholders, adeptly incorporating feedback to hone and improve project outcomes.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience in the creative industry, with at least 3 years in leadership roles at an agency.

  • A robust portfolio demonstrating strong strategic visual execution across various projects.

  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and strategic thinking skills, with a knack for problem-solving and innovation.

  • Proven ability to manage a wide range of creative projects, including web, branding, and digital marketing campaigns.

  • A passion for making a significant impact within the design industry, with a commitment to pushing creative boundaries through exploring diverse mediums and techniques.

  • Expert in graphic language and visual experimentation alongside solid typography skills.
