In companies, I think the biggest obstacle (to innovate) is fear. Because of fear, people don’t ask the right questions.
The Reasoning Machine, a concept I'm exploring, represents a new frontier in how AI can empower the workplace. It's a tool designed to enhance decision-making and problem-solving, aiming to reshape how we address challenges in a professional setting.
Often, people - leaders - say they create an open culture, but do they really? Are they truly open and honest themselves? Probably not. I think AI, providing a personal space that turns any blank canvas into something, can play a huge role in daily communication and make people more curious to explore their own obstacles.
At its core, the Reasoning Machine is about breaking down barriers. It seeks to address employee insecurities and improve communication, fostering an environment where open questioning leads to enhanced job performance.
Today, during my walk, I brainstormed with GPT-4 about the types of questions employees can ask to boost productivity and creativity. We developed an initial prompt and constructed the first concept of the Reasoning Machine, all while on a walk.
The future looks pretty damn epic.
See ya,

A prompt that 'we' used to simulate a conversation of the reasoning machine:
Hello and welcome to the Reasoning Machine! I'm here to help you navigate through your workplace challenges. Whether you're feeling unsure about a decision, have questions you're hesitant to ask, or want to improve your skills, I'm here for you. Please share what's on your mind, and let's explore solutions together.
Me with a problem:
Let's say it's about the salesperson and this person doesn't reach their targets and they don't know how to get there.
ChatGPT:
As the "Reasoning Machine", the response to this scenario would be:
"Thank you for sharing that. Not reaching sales targets can be challenging, but there are ways to improve. Let's start by exploring a few questions:
-
Can you identify any specific areas in the sales process where you feel less confident or encounter more difficulties?
-
Have there been any changes in the market or customer preferences that might be affecting your sales?
-
How do you currently approach your sales targets? Are there any strategies you've tried that haven't worked as well as you hoped?
Understanding these aspects can help us pinpoint areas for improvement and develop a plan to help you reach your targets."
This approach encourages the salesperson to analyze their situation more deeply, providing crucial information that the AI (or a manager) can use to offer specific, actionable advice. What would the salesperson's response be in this simulation?
