Overview:
Leafy is an AI-powered plant care assistant app designed to help new indoor gardeners care for houseplants easily and successfully. I led research and design for this project over a 2-week timeframe.
Research:
Early generative research involved studying new plant owner needs through interviews and examining leading competitor apps. Key insights showed beginners want more guidance personalized to their plants, and existing solutions lack robust monitoring tools.
Process:
With the target emotional mindset and user needs defined, I rapidly ideated solutions and mapped user flows. After validating the flow with wireframes, I designed the visual experience focusing on an organic, welcoming aesthetic for the app.
Outcome:
The completed designs portray the friendly, personalized plant care assistant I envisioned. I'm thrilled to have tackled the full design process efficiently to produce an emotionally-resonant concept addressing key user problems.

Generative research was crucial to guide designs based on user emotions vs assumptions
