Radoslaw Rozanski
Sociologically trained designer in Cracow, Poland
On a daily basis I translate user needs into digital products, smartly navigating between business and technological possibilities. My main area of expertise is interface design, but I like to play around with branding or 2D animation.
As a sociologist, I bring a solid methodological foundation to user needs research, knowing what questions to ask and being aware of my (and others') cognitive biases.
In my spare time you'll find me playing basketball, cycling or reading philosophy.
Projects
Moonmind is a concept for my client's original wellbeing content, translated into a beautiful and functional mobile app interface. My role included shaping the idea, competitive analysis, creating the branding and designing an interface that delivers sophisticated content in an engaging way.
The Kassa concept was developed by experienced sales professionals who wanted to simplify the sales process. It ensures that both parties stay aligned throughout the often complex journey from first contact to closing the lead. My role included small ideation, wireframing, testing the prototype and delivering the final design of the platform.
Designed a set of web pages, including a blog, for an organization that brings together geeks working on startups after hours.
I was part of a two-person design team working on a tool for locating electric vehicle charging points. Our design process kicked off with a Discovery phase, where we got to know our target audience's needs and dissected competitor solutions to identify and avoid their mistakes.
Shutter is a brainchild of a photography enthusiast, designed to remotely control the advanced features of Sony and Canon cameras. As part of a compact team, my role encompassed the creation of the app's mock-ups, branding and the final styling tailored for Apple devices.
Together with a trio of project colleagues, I played a part in the brainstorming, wireframing and final design stages of a thorough platform that considers both the viewpoints of the shelters and the adopters.
Work Experience
As an Art Director of my own head, I have been involved in the development of 40+ digital products, helping both large orgs and startups polish their ideas and then turn them into usable interfaces.
Education
Broadening my design-artistic horizons
Sociology opened my eyes to the complexity of the world, showed me how everything is interconnected, and pushed me to look beyond my own biases. It also armed me with a solid methodology - before I trust any research, my first question is always: how was it done?
My main areas of interest: anthropology of infrastructures, sociology of design, Actor-Network Theory.
As part of a six-month course, I developed NOICE – TO CANCEL THE NOISE, the project aimed at addressing the issue of noise pollution in modern cities, which I perceive as underrepresented in today's political discourse.
During the design process, I acquired theoretical and practical knowledge by using over 16 methods aimed at adapting the solution to the stakeholders' needs, in accordance with the Roberto Verganti's Meaningful Innovation approach.
