About
Curious about machine learning, tech history, HCI and biomimicry. I am interested in helping augment human work with machine intelligence.
Work Experience
Leading WebLM & Language Model Tool Use.
Aide builds tools to help teams get more done. Starting with customer support, we are able to surface useful information, save time with API integrations and give teams a bird's eye view of incoming requests.
We build and deploy machine learning systems for useful business applications.
Exploring venture capital. Mostly talked to founders and organized events.
Worked on a few projects at various startups: including redesigning Column (column.us)'s entire landing page.
Selected many of the vendors and tools we used (legal, accounting) and solved operational problems, like how to send shoes to a customer for at home try-on. I also worked on customer experience, meeting with our users and collecting feedback.
Worked on infrastructure, customer support, sales, and onboarding users. I also helped shape product development by collecting feedback and considering solutions to issues our users faced and helped design the product.
Worked on sales and operations. Increased conversions by ~30% resulting in thousands of dollars of additional revenue. By moving our codebase from Heroku to AWS and adding a caching layer, I decreased page load times by 300%. Also setup our payroll system and co-ordinated our technicians for highly efficient service.
During my time as a co-op student, I worked on security and infrastructure projects. I implemented application vulnerability scanning in our CI/CD system and helped to manage team identities by setting the team up with a password manager and teaching them about security best practices.
Projects
Worked with the team at Open Library and some friends on designing a new interface for browsing books at the library.
Helped to design, build and conduct interviews to build a useful resource for those interested in immigrating to start a startup.
Education
Philosophy with a minor in Cognitive Science. Dropped out.
