Global Payroll Service

Context

The company had a large pool of talents and clients, which led to the decision to create our own payroll service. This service aims to help clients manage and pay their global workforce. With tight deadlines, five cross-functional teams were involved in the project.

Challenge

The project required clear and timely communication among the cross-functional teams to keep everyone on the same page. One challenge was using an existing library while also giving the new product a fresh, modern look. Additionally, the tight deadlines meant that designers, product managers, stakeholders, and engineers had to balance their priorities, often making necessary compromises to stay on track.

Role

Lead Designer at Client portal

Research and Analysis

Together with product managers and UX researchers, we worked on story mapping, use cases and user flows.

States and flows

Below are shown 2 pages of the project. All states and screens were considered – this helped to reduce questions from stakeholders and engineers and develop it faster.

Design library

A separated library was created, with documentation and examples for the team. We tried to reuse as many components from the main library, as possible, so to deliver the project before the deadlines.

Designs

Examples of final screens.

Results

The product was successfully launched in under 3 months, with initial sign-ups occurring within the first week and a conversion rate of 78%.
