Gibson Chu

Urban Planner / Product Manager in NYC

My goal is to build better cities for people through urban technology and public policy, focusing on sustainable transportation, public spaces, and affordable housing.

With my studio, In Spaces, I'm collaborating with Prof. Melisa Tekin on privately owned public spaces (POPS) in NYC; building an AI project around traffic crashes with Center for Policing Equity; writing about urban planning; and speaking about urban technology through my "Cities Rewired" podcast.

I'm also studying for a Master's in Urban Planning at NYU, writing for the Wagner Planner and planning events as a rep in the Urban Planning Student Association. I'm an active member with Parking Reform Network, Transportation Alternatives, and Apex.

I also do film photography and videography, having run my own wedding and event photography business for a few years.
