Work Experience

2018 — Now

Managing the growing Open Source Tooling, where we build tools to support our expanding catalog of open source projects.

  • OSPO strategy - worked with organization leaders to define, revise, and execute on strategies to grow the Open Source Program
  • Team growth - supported the team as it has expanded and individuals as they've grown
  • Expanded scope - worked to find new areas where the team can have impact, with a particular focus on high visibility open source projects and security
  • Drafted company-wide policy around the use of open source code
  • Worked on the creation of new foundations, enabling open source projects to continue to be successful outside of single company control
2012 — 2018
Sotware Engineer at Meta

I joined as a front-end engineer and spent most of my time working on React and Open Source Tooling.

While working on the React team:

  • Led the effort to open source React
  • Established best practices, enabling the team with mixed levels of open source experience to build a thriving community
  • Maintained the project, engaging with contributors and users to evolve the project, managing releases
  • Supported additional projects in the front-end space, including Jest, Relay, and React Native

I moved to the Open Source Tooling team after several years in order to take my experiences with individual projects and apply it to Meta's growing Open Source Program. As an individual contributor I engaged with teams around the world to identify and prioritize a number of projects including:

  • CLA management & enforcement
  • Code Syncing, enabling internal monorepo development alongside individual external project repositories
  • Access management & Security
  • Metrics collection & analysis
