This shot was created in Houdini 20.0 with native flip and whitewater tools. And the comp was done in Nuke.
I was responsible for all aspects.
I will try to breakdown this shot in detail in this post. If you have any question, feel free to reach out, you can find my contact info in my profile.

Process
It's a recreation of a tutorial from Entagma.
I created a sphere and use pyro source spread to simulate the pop area of the bubble.

And based on the burn attribute, I separated the part where it's greater than 0.1; with the help of some vex code and clip node.

For the poping part, I used a wrangle to activate the simulation by finding if the particles have a nearpoint that's closer than 0.01 on the pop area; and adding strong forces to those that do.

And finally I added some mountain displacement on to the bubble for realism. And I blurred the normal of the edges where the poping flip sim connecting with the bubble surface.
And for the material, just play around with the thin-film setting, both IOR and thickness.
Final Result
