As someone who has been testing software for a little over half his life (I’m 50), I’ve got to say there was a time when I was a little worried about the direction software was going. It seemed that all too often companies were happy with just getting stuff out for the sake of release.
That’s changed quite a bit. There are a lot of companies that are putting a lot of thought into their software. They care about the product, they are proud of it. They love their customers, they listen to them. They work hard trying to balance the product, their vision, and the customer. I speak of products like Arc, Warp, Obsidian, Heptabase, Amie, mymind, Cosmos, 1password, Read.cv, not to mention all the smaller independents that got sick of where they were working and said, “Screw it. I’ll do it myself”. Thank you! I see you, and I’ve got your back!
Thank you for putting in the work. Thank you for kicking ass. Thank you for thinking about the customer. Thank you for your thoughtful designs, solid code, and the ability to admit when you make mistakes and then try your damnest to fix them. Thank you for just showing up and trying.
I’m so fired up about where tech and software is headed right now. I can’t wait to see what you all produce!
