Projects
Through three major iterations, my first focus and project once joining Jobber was discovering a successful Freemium entry model for their business. Myself and our growth team (1 PM, 2 engineers) created the foundation for our free plan, and through rapid experimentation discovered the best access model of features to provide for free, while developing our product-led expansion components to introduce, educate, and guide users through conversion once they were successfully running their business.
From January to May of 2018 myself along with three engineers developed social media management platform HeyOrcas first design system. Moving slowly through project development due to not leveraging a consistent system, their interface was jarring and every experience required learning and discovery since there were no common patterns. Following an atomic model, starting with the smallest stylistic tokens, and building up through components, modules, and surfaces, within four months we have the foundation of HeyOrcas new product personality and an easy to use system for engineering.
Side Projects
Created a free-to-use URL shortener. Was a simple project to test my understanding of client-server communication and fetching at speed. It currently helps over 2,000 links per month from clogging conversations and emails.
Myself (design) and colleague Adam (engineer) began design and development of Juke as a way to quickly create collaborative music playlists for office music, locker-rooms, parties, or road trips. This was a challenge for ourselves to learn how to craft a larger scale social platform and experience. While we never moved out of Beta, the functionality was great. 2-years later and Spotify launched their collaborative playlist functionality validating our initial hypothesis and solutions.
