This is my bachelor‘s thesis. I explored how Atomic Design is often misinterpreted as a design process and how it could actually be used as a design process.

What I did
Job description:
- Developing a design system for multiple brands, based on existing designs of those brands.
- Collecting and structuring design and brand elements with the team.
- Systematically cataloging all elements based on Atomic design.
- Designing components and creating a component library (using Sketch).
- Validate and coordinate the library with design and development, as well as other stakeholders.
- Coordinated cross-team and multi-disciplinary tasks and processes to implement in product development.
- Documented a consistent design system for multiple brands across all platforms using Frontify.
- Created a set of rules for using the design system, such as "do's and don'ts" as well as use cases.
Requirements for the job:
- In-depth knowledge of product design (digital) UX design and/or UI design.
- You have know-how of design systems and know how brand communication works. You ideally have knowledge of how modern software development processes work.
- You are an open-minded and emphatic person who enjoys working with people and have very good written and spoken German and English skills.
- You bring very good technical knowledge in using Sketch and good skills in other tools like Adobe CC.
- You are proactive and work independently to learn new tasks and software tools.

Education
The track "Digital Media Design" incorporated a broad canon of subjects. I was able to learn UI and UX design, filmmaking and programming, and the mathematical foundation of GPUs which I’ve entirely forgotten since. We practiced 3D-Modelling, 2D-Animation, presented exciting challenges, but my focus was on UX and UI design, and front-end development.
