What you need to know about the Facebook Product Design Interview

Pause started as a fun internal project at Obvious that quickly scaled to become a full time gig for some of us.

Our goal was to change the way teams look at time-off management. No communication gaps, breezy team planning, absolutely no drama. A world where plans don't break when teams take a break!

Increased newsletter CTR from 3% to 5% by tweaking the message and design.

Design Internship

Engagement with Obvious | Team of 3 | 2 months

Slice was facing issues with their onboarding experience. Despite several experiments, it was hard for them to create an engaging onboarding experience that led to high conversions.

To tackle this, they approached Obvious.

We conducted extensive generative design sprints and identified that their audience (gen z & millenials) responded best to a chat bot backed by referrals and monetary incentives.

We then built out and iterated 4 versions of this chat bot until it led reduced the time by 3 minutes and increased conversions by 4%.

Onboarding Experience

Independently conducted research for Kotak on a 0-1 initiative to identify opportunities in the Indian stock trading market. This led to a longer engagement to build Kotak Securities’ new trading app.

New Investment Portal

With the vision to align teams around the voice of the customer, Loop makes it easy to record, clip, and share video from Zoom in real-time.

Research Synthesis

Created a tool to find your favourite gifs and emojis with `:` to easily use them on any app!

Design & Development

Giffy Pop

While I have always loved creating new icon styles for my projects, expanding these icon sets can be a rote and uncreative process.

So I designed and developed a small tool to create svg unique icons with text prompts for any project.

Currently at ~2000 generations.

Iconomy

Built a side project to help young Indian designers find mentors from the best companies across the country.

Making tools for creatives

I helped make a payments app that was Google Play’s app of the year in 2023. I played a small role in scaling it from 0 to 12M users and it is now used by 83% of consumers in Indonesia!

Projects

1. Redesigned the card linking experience to increase linking by 3.5%

2. Lead the redesign of a payments widget

Senior Product Designer

* Built an enrollment tool for large organizations that reduced errors in client data and reduced time taken by HRs for onboarding by \~4 hours.
* Own the roadmap and strategy for the claims experience. Worked with the engineering, claims and ops team to build a new claims experience that reduced response rate to 4 hours (from 18 hours).

Founder's Office

Started as a product design intern. Was offered a full time job as Chief of Staff.

Obvious was acquired by an Indian decacorn.
