Work Experience

2020 — 2022

I founded design automation tool Typeset, which uses Ai to help people magically turn text into beautiful slide decks and interactive documents, just by typing. Acquired by SamCart.

2017 — 2020
  • Led the global product design team at Lucidworks
  • Conceived, designed and built Ai-powered Enterprise Search App that placed Lucidworks top right of Gartner's 2018 Leaders Quadrant for Insight Engines - for the first time ever
  • Creative direction and UX lead on App Studio product
  • Evolved identity and branding for global Activate Conference
  • Designed a low code, organisation-spanning environment to control and optimise the entire customer lifecycle, and managed reports in delivering a suite of pre-baked applications
  • Helped leadership with product strategy, roadmap and offering pivots
2014 — 2017

Twigkit’s User Interface components let people build slick, data-driven applications quickly and easily. A startup of 4 people when I joined, I built up a design team and led design and UX across product, services and marketing, until acquisition.

  • Led UX across several specialist search driven applications for global clients (Fintech, Pharma, Government, Media)
  • Arranged and led onsite customer UX workshops, user and business requirements sessions
  • Internal product development. Rebuilt and modernised all search UI components that made up the core offering. This included rethinking and rewriting a CSS framework
  • Shaped Twigkit’s offering, capabilities, technology, and organisational model
  • Rebranded and repositioned the company. Rewrote and launched a new website. Created several vertical specific product demos and BTL materials to support the sales process
  • Targeted marketing campaigns

2012 — 2014
  • Led and managed international design team across client and product development work, while maintaining hands-on UX and design role
  • Developed global marketing campaigns. Attributable wins include SAB Miller and Pernod Ricard contracts
  • Developed rebranding strategy and brand architecture for multiple products gained through company acquisitions. Created a new suite of linked, sibling products
  • Designer briefing, recruitment, mentoring, appraisals and career development
  • Pitched creative to customers, C-level management and investors

2010 — 2012
  • Led and managed all design resources across multiple client and product development work, while maintaining hands-on role
  • Created “The Brand Quiz” viral website to promote a SaaS product launch (800K+ visits, 295K in first six weeks). Widespread specialist media acclaim and exposure
  • Designed digital asset management tool for Shell Global Marketing. Adopted by 2,000 people in first 6 weeks, growing to 16,000+ regular active users
  • Designed Diageo “SmartBrand” including digital asset library, project management, approvals and artwork templating solution for 15,000+ global staff and agencies. Shortlisted for a British Computer Society Award
  • Launched an innovation competition open to all staff (ran for three years)
