Description

Hundreds of thousands of restaurants, grocery stores, and other businesses around the world sell on Uber Eats. The Merchant Design team creates all the software products they use to do it. Our goal is to make selling on Uber both effortless and financially rewarding.

As a designer on the team, you'll own a broad domain. You'll obsess over understanding merchants' needs and amplifying their voices internally. And then you'll creatively solve their problems. The design decisions you make will impact the daily lives of our global merchant population.

What You'll Do

  • Design beautiful and functional design improvements to merchant tools

  • Empathize with merchants and advocate for their needs

  • Influence product direction through collaboration, user research, and storytelling

  • Partner with engineers to ensure your designs are shipped at a high quality

  • Build up other designers through collaboration and feedback

Basic qualifications

  • 5+ years of product design experience

  • A portfolio showing your high quality, thoughtful UI and UX work

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience working on similar products: B2B, productivity tools, web-based

  • Strong judgment around the right balance between design quality and speed

  • Ability to strongly articulate your design work and rationale to your peers and cross-functional team

  • A willingness to pitch ideas to cross-functional partners and an understanding of when it makes sense to push back.

  • Ability to strategically prioritize multiple projects. You'll have plenty to do--know where your efforts will have the most impact.

  • Proficiency with design tools. We use Figma.

  • Effective prototyping skills

  • A degree in HCI, Graphic Design, or related field is preferred
