Description

About Studio Embed.

After spending 5+ years as a founding product designer at companies like Universe, [untitled] and Typo, dpark started an independent design practice with the thesis of building products from first-principles.

Our studio isn't a traditional agency where companies hire to execute on a product brief or document. We're design partners who are deeply embedded into the process. We are fractional design founders without the risk.

We think of our studio as the place for highly creative designers who don't fit the mold of optimizing products and growing an arbitrary metric just to make stakeholders happy. We're the place where designers are encouraged to think, challenge prompts, and re-imagine what design means in technology.

About the role

We're looking for a designer with experience dreaming up visions and the skillset to execute on that vision. Not just from a design perspective, but from an operator one. We strongly believe design is not a function of development, it's hospitality. Here's what a potential contract would look like:

  • Work closely with the principal to generate a vision for clients

  • Execute on Figma screens that are ready for SPEC

  • Dream up and prototype novel interactions

  • Inspire clients through storytelling

About the type of work you'll be doing

We're not a studio that does landing pages, or onboarding flows. We are a full experience studio that dreams up interfaces and visions. As such, you'll be working on fun products. Some of the teams we've worked with

  • [untitled] – designing creativity tools for musicians

  • Stealth Fashion x AI startup – re-designing the app from scratch

  • Stealth consumer play startup – imagining a new way to consume and play with music

  • Stealth AI startup – Can't share much, but it's fun.

How we interview

It starts with a conversation to answer any questions you have about the role and to learn about your experience and interests. Then if we're a good fit, we'll have you do a trial contract with us with some real client work or a prompt that we use internally.

Compensation

We expect you to come to the interview with your hourly rate.

How to apply

Please apply by emailing hi@studioembed.com with the subject line: Designer

  • We appreciate each applicants interest; unfortunately we aren't able to reply to everyone, though.

  • In your email, include your portfolio, prototypes, and documents that represent your work.

  • Also in the email, share with me your favorite non-electronic physical product and why.
