Description

Pentagram Design London is seeking a talented Lead Digital Designer to join Luke Powell and Jody Hudson-Powell’s creative team for a range of exciting branding projects with a strong digital focus.

Our team’s focus is branding, but we believe a company’s digital presence – whether online or in apps – should never be an afterthought. Every project we take on includes designing some or all aspects of a client’s digital experience, regardless of their industry or size. Whether it’s a new cultural landmark in Asia, a legacy broadcaster shaping public discourse, a tech giant on the brink of going public, or a trailblazing AI startup aiming to redefine its field, we ensure their digital narrative is as compelling as their brand.

We are seeking an experience digital designer who is skilled in both UX and UI, eager to work with cutting-edge companies, and capable of leading the digital design efforts within our team.

What will you be doing if you join?

As the most senior digital designer, you will carry a significant responsibility: reimagining the digital experiences of some the world’s most exciting startups and companies. Your role will shift week to week, with tasks ranging from brainstorming brand concepts with the team and conducting in-depth analyses of a client’s current platform, to designing wireframes for new websites, prototyping fresh ideas, interviewing freelancers, or presenting design updates to a CEO. You will also provide feedback on development progress to our partners. If that variety excites you, then…

We are looking for someone with the following characteristics:

  • You are passionate about new and cool technologies, always exploring the latest digital design tools

  • You are enthusiastic about every part of the digital design process, with a strong focus on UX research, wireframing and UI design

  • You are comfortable with the fundamentals of front-end development

  • You are obsessed with creating functional, user-friendly designs that push the boundaries of what’s possible within branding contexts

  • You are positive, optimistic, and adaptable, thriving in a fast-paced environment

  • You use Figma

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Driving the digital design discipline in Team Luke and Jody

  • Conducting user research, creating site maps, developing wireframes, and designing high-fidelity mock-ups and prototypes for digital brand touch points

  • Conceptualising creative ideas that align with overall brand strategies

  • Leading the digital design output across multiple branding projects and timelines

  • Providing expert ‘digital’ perspective across all stages of a branding project

  • Leading workshops, attending stakeholder meetings, and presenting digital design concepts to clients

  • Helping to manage and hire freelance digital designers

  • Collaborating with the project managers, creative directors, and wider team to estimate timings, costs, scope, and delivery of digital aspects within branding projects

  • Creating interactive prototypes using tools like Figma, After Effects, or code

  • Working closely with external developers to ensure the highest possible standard of implementation for digital brand experiences

Contract Details:

  • Permanent position with a six-month probationary period

  • Competitive salary

What We Offer:

  • 20 days of annual leave, plus Christmas closure, bank holidays, and additional days for long service (after 2 years)

  • Medicash Scheme Level 1

  • Auto-enrolment pension scheme

  • Employee Assistance Program via Health Assured

  • Cycle-to-work scheme

  • Healthy lunches prepared by our in-house chef (Monday to Thursday)

  • Hybrid working model: 3 days in the studio, 2 days from home

How to Apply:

If you’re excited about designing cutting-edge digital experiences within comprehensive branding projects for innovative companies at a high cadence, we want to hear from you.

Please send your CV and portfolio to jl-admin@pentagram.com and a short 100-word statement explaining why you’re the ideal candidate for this role, also include “Lead Digital Designer” as the subject line.
