Closer to San Francisco the better. Not accepting non-US work locations generally, unless you used to live/work in Silicon Valley.
Parkade's mission is to reshape cities and combat climate change by creating a world with far less parking. We build software that corporate buildings and apartment complexes use to improve parking utilization, revenue, enforcement and tenant experience at their properties — revolutionizing how parking works at buildings like these.
We've found product-market fit, with customers beating down our door and a fantastic business model. To date, our co-founder/CEO has done all of our design work. But as we're entering growth mode and have tens of thousands of people using Parkade daily, we want to up-level our product, and hire a top-notch product designer to own/found our design function.
That's where you come in. You'd take on our product roadmap, update our design system and review our existing product to help plan an overhaul.
Job description
-
Use Figma to design the UX/UI of Parkade's web and mobile products, including:
-
Researching user and business objectives in collaboration with Product
-
Translating user needs and business objectives into designs that help our customers get the job done (delightfully)
-
Prototyping and testing the efficacy of designed solutions
-
Building design system components and experiences from scratch, as needed (and using what we can from the existing design system)
-
-
Gather feedback and figure out how to iterate and improve things you launch.
-
Work collaboratively with our marketing lead to iterate on our brand.
-
Work closely with the CEO to hash out the roadmap and solidify designs for our next projects.
-
Lean on customer insights when needed and when time allows, but make good gut decisions if time is of the essence.
Experience
-
4+ years of experience working as a UX/UI or Product Designer for a technology company
-
At least 2 years with mobile app design experience
-
At least 2 years working at a tech startup (<500 people) or 1 year as a founding/sole designer for a startup
-
You know (er, love!) Figma and are familiar with the ins and outs of its advanced features
-
Experience building UI components from scratch (founding designer, expanded an existing design system)
About you
-
You're located in or near San Francisco, and are interested in working out of our Mission office at least 2-3 days/week (on average). Only incredibly exceptional remote applicants will be considered.
-
You're scrappy, and can balance between cutting corners and a perfectionist eye when needed.
-
You're a visually-focused designer and have a keen eye for aesthetics, details, and pixel perfection.
-
You feel comfortable designing from the ground up rather than sole from within an existing design system. Note: we do have a design system, but we're constantly designing new experiences that push its boundaries.
-
You're disciplined and organized with your design. You lean heavily on symbols/components and (almost) always name your layers.
-
You love a role with ambiguity and fast-paced change, and thrive in that world.
-
You’re intentional about your design decisions and communicate them simply and clearly.
Bonus points
-
Experience working on a B2B product is a plus
-
You care deeply about problems related to parking and the efficient use of space and resources in cities.
Benefits
-
Competitive compensation that includes a strong base comp, and a significant stake in Parkade's success
-
Healthcare to ensure all your bases are covered for you and your family
-
Great culture embodied in our small, high-caliber team of mission-driven doers
-
Unlimited PTO to give our employees a little extra R&R when they need it
-
Remote work program to allow for flexibility between home and the office
