We’re a design team that loves design tokens, tie-dye socks, and books.

We believe creating meaningful software for entrepreneurs starts with thoughtful design. We are hoping to add 3 Product Design Interns to our team for Summer 2023, who can join us on our journey as we reimagine financial technology.

  • Gain a deep understanding of Mercury’s customers and find elegant design solutions that defy their expectations.

  • Be an integral part of the Design Team with support from a mentor, design manager, and cross-functional teammates.

  • Work with stakeholders across the organization, such as the executive team, marketing team, and product team.

  • Work across the design stack, including: working with a product manager to spec projects; designing workflows, interactions, and high-fidelity visuals; and working with engineers to ensure quality implementation.

  • Design multiple visual concepts and learn how to narrow them to the right solution through research and collaboration with your team.

  • Use your design superpower to make things tangible.

  • Work within and contribute to Mercury’s design system.

  • Explore how constraints can unlock creativity.

  • Learn about business banking and financial technology.

You should:

  • Have interest in the entire design stack, including product strategy, UI/UX, visual design, and interaction design.

  • Understand when no design is the best design.

  • Love collaboration and be excited to give and receive feedback.

  • Be interested in design systems.

  • Have experience designing software products, with tools such as Figma, Sketch, and/or Adobe CC.

  • Be curious about the startup ecosystem.

  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Exhibit kindness and humility in everyday interactions.

  • Ask a lot of questions.

  • Be eager to learn.
