Jitter is a fast, simple, and collaborative motion design tool on the web. We help designers create high-quality animations for communication materials, videos, apps, and websites easily, while collaborating with all the stakeholders involved in the creative process: teammates, clients, marketers, engineers… We’re the “Figma for motion design”.

Jitter is already a leading design tool: we serve more than 30k users monthly, the community awarded us a Design tool of the Year award on Product Hunt, and our Figma plugin has more than 170k installs – making it the biggest standalone animation tool on Figma Community.

We are a small, efficient team from diverse backgrounds including Apple, GoPro, Buffer, and YC, and we are at an exciting stage of our journey: our revenue is growing fast, and we are now scaling to empower more designers and creators with the modern animation tool they have been dreaming of.

Our secret sauce 🥫

At Jitter, we use a unique approach to describe animations. Instead of the traditional keyframe model, users can manipulate simple instructions like "fade in", "scale out", “move”, “rotate”… This approach makes the creation of animations much more accessible, yet fully customizable. And it works on all types of layers: you can design a text effect the same way you design an animation for a shape, video, or image. This is extremely powerful and can unlock a lot of creativity for the users.

We strongly believe in the future of the web, and super excited about the technical challenges ahead. Our goal is to make Jitter as powerful and creative as a native app while enabling seamless collaboration between users.

Your core mission 🎯

As part of the early Jitter design team, you will:

• Lead the design of features in the editor, app, and public website

• Contribute to the overall product and design direction of the whole company

• Create flows, prototypes, high-fidelity visuals, and handoffs for our features

• Work closely with Product and Marketing to define the next features to design

• Work closely with Engineers and other stakeholders to ensure a high-quality implementation

• Use and evolve our lightweight design system

• Cultivate a deep understanding of what our users need with interviews and user tests

• Help with growing the design team and establishing a design culture within the company

Requirements 💫

• 4+ years of experience designing and leading (parts of) interactive software products

• Excellent visual, interface, and interaction skills

• Seamless execution and handoff skills

2. Portfolio review (deep dive on the 2 past projects you’re the most proud of) – 1h, remote

3. Collaboration test, reviewed with the team ****– 2 hours, remote or in-person

4. Culture fit interview and meet the team – Half a day, remote or in-person
