Description

We are looking for an ambitious Founding UI/UX Designer who wants to have an impactful role in a fresh organisation and loves working with customers to significantly improve their digital experiences. This role involves creating amazing billing and payment experiences for businesses (B2B) and for consumers (B2C), in a fast paced startup. To be honest, there are high chances that this will be the best professional experience you’ll ever have in your career.

About us

We are on a mission to build the first global bill payments network. We believe that managing bills (invoices) and payments is very complex today, as it's all built on legacy systems and decisions made 30 years ago - which creates so much burden these days for reconciling bank statements with invoices, complex account receivable tools etc.

Consumer bill payments are broken. Billers operate messy, legacy infrastructure and lack great ways to engage their customers. Consumers struggle with lots of bills delivered in different ways, and their bill payment journeys are often the worst payment journeys.

We want to help billers get paid faster, cheaper by giving consumers control over their bills.

We will build the best set of tools for billers to help them collect payments, including payments, dunning and collections capabilities. Uniquely, we will focus from the outset on also improving the consumer payment experience, building an app which gives them both better control and visibility of bills as well as offering them flexibility of payment. We believe that by building best-in-class B2B and B2C propositions we will be in a strong position to lead the bill payments market - and after all, the average consumer pays 275 bills a year vs just 19 eCom purchases.

The company was founded by Tom and Ciprian, experienced leaders that have helped build amazing global fintech unicorns across payments and banking. We know you can only build an amazing company with the very best talent, so have brought together an A+, highly ambitious and experienced team - and you could be perfect to join it!

About you

  • You are passionate and experienced in creating amazing user experiences, end to end (both for businesses and consumers)

  • You are a self-starter with great intuition. You don’t need to be told what to do - you just need the support and guidance to get you there

  • You have a high degree of autonomy, but also love creating and validating your work with customers, founders, product managers, engineers

  • You are able to think and operate both long-term, as well as being scrappy - optimise high value outcomes delivered at high velocity

  • Creative designing is more than a job for you, but also a hobby

  • You have a solid foundation for this role. Anything above 3 years of experience works for us, as we expect you to know what you need to do the job (process, tools etc)

  • You have been distinctive in a previous role and want to work with people who are the best in their fields

  • You have a portfolio of work you can share with us

What we expect you to do

  • Work with customers to understand requirements and experiences, in strong collaboration with commercial, product and engineering

  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and visual designs for our platform (B2B) and mobile applications (B2C)

  • Create mock interfaces, widgets, site maps that can be used during the sales demos - we want to make sure we are building the right thing, so we will be selling first and then build

  • Proactively monitor, identify, troubleshoot and fix UX issues to ensure best user journeys

  • Design company visual assets, including website branding, marketing collateral, etc.

  • L&D budgets. We’ll support you with training and development related to your role - or your next role.

  • Equipment. It is important we have the tools for the job. We will provide you with a high end Macbook and iPhone, and will update them regularly.

  • Medical, pensions, etc. Depending on your location, we will offer other benefits including pensions and private medical insurance so you are free to do your best work.

Where will you work

We believe that in-person collaboration drives efficiency and helps us create a great culture, shaped every day by every single one of us. Of course, life can throw up surprises so if you need flexibility for a period that’s cool - but generally we expect all people to work from our London (UK) office on a daily basis and join our frequent work retreats.
