What is your team mission?
Forma is on a mission to prevent injury by giving players personalised, medically backed information, enabling sustainable, lifelong enjoyment of the sport.
Introduce us to your team
Forma was founded by 22× Grand Slam winner Rafael Nadal and his friend and doctor Ángel Ruiz-Cotorro, based between Barcelona and Rafa’s Academy in Mallorca. Currently we are a small distributed team of engineers, designers and doctors, but we are growing quickly. ¡Vamos! 🎾
What does your workplace look like?
While we are a distributed team across Europe, building a product for tennis players means a lot of time spent in and around the court, be it at ‘Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar’ in Mallorca or court-side in Wimbledon or Roland Garros, we always try to be as close as possible to what matters: tennis and players.
What problem are you solving?
There has been a significant rise in injuries amongst anyone from junior players to professional athletes over the last decade. 85% of junior players get injured each year.* The overall amount of injuries in tennis has more than doubled in the last decade. 50% of these injuries would be preventable with the right technique.
For junior or professional players injury means time spent not training and potentially having to give up your dream of becoming a top-ranked player or winning an important tournament.
For amateur players injury leads to a compromise in your daily life caused by the sport that used to be your beloved hobby.
