Introduce us to your team

Andy is the Founder of Finta. He graduated from Waterloo and worked in investment banking, private equity, and held finance roles at various high-growth startups over the past decade.

Originally from Toronto, he recently moved to San Francisco with his wife and dog. Andy enjoys weight-lifting, playing the piano, and recently got into chess.

Fun fact: Andy hiked Mt. Kilimanjaro and Mt. Elbrus during career breaks.

Ted is the Founding Engineer at Finta. He's been building full-stack Rails applications for nine years, mostly at early-stage fintech startups.

Originally from Halifax, Ted now calls Toronto home. When he's not writing code, you'll usually find him sailing or attempting to take local KOMs on his bike (keyword: attempting).

Fun fact: Ted's been sailing longer than he's been walking.

Andy and Ted met at Cover, a YC-backed modern property insurance provider in the US. Andy was the first Finance hire, and Ted was the first Engineering hire.

What does your workplace look like?

While we do have an office in San Francisco, we primarily work remotely and collaborate using Slack, Notion, and Zoom.

Twice a year, we gather for a company off-site. Last year, together with our partners, we went to San Diego! We enjoyed amazing tacos, kayaked, and hiked for some breathtaking views.
