Description

About Feedly

Hundreds of leading cybersecurity teams use Feedly to stay ahead of emerging threats by collecting, analyzing and sharing open-source threat intelligence faster with the power of AI.

We're a remote-first, self-funded, high-growth, profitable startup. Our team is distributed across America and Europe. Our values inform what we build and how we work: Growth Mindset, Customer Obsession, Team First, Excellence and Ownership.

We are all makers at heart and care deeply about the quality of our work.

As a small team, we’re all generalists constantly picking up new challenges.

When it comes to Product Design, we mostly use Figma, we have a mature design system in place and we follow robust design routines.

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Product Designer to join our Feedly Threat Intelligence product team, which includes product managers, frontend, backend and ML engineers, and expert partners.

As our ideal candidate, you have proven experience in shipping digital products and you are ready to lead complex design projects autonomously. You will join a small design team that provides lots of room to innovate and deliver value to our customers.

You will be responsible not only for improving our product and launching new features, but also helping continuously improve the foundations of our design process and design system.

Individual growth is important to us. We will work with you to define a career plan that will make you successful during your time at Feedly and beyond. You will also benefit from mentorship and coaching from our most senior designers in the team.

This role is fully remote, with strong preference given to candidates with working hours anywhere between Eastern Time (e.g. US East Coast) and Central European Time (e.g. France).

You will report directly to our Head of Product.

Responsibilities

  • Own your design process from beginning to end, throughout the entire product lifecycle.

  • Design end-to-end flows and experiences that simplify and distill complex actions into intuitive interfaces, in collaboration with your cross-functional team.

  • Create complex components, prototypes and whatever else is needed to bring great ideas to life and evangelize user-centered design to the rest of the team.

  • Conduct user research for your product area in collaboration with your product manager, and demonstrate empathy for customers when making product or feature tradeoffs.

  • "Design like you are right, listen like you are wrong" is our motto. Gather feedback from the team and conduct usability tests with customers to validate and iterate on design solutions.

  • Pair with your product manager to help prioritize features and define our overall strategy.

  • Contribute and collaborate with the rest of the team on Feedly’s design system to keep our product consistent and accessible, and enable rapid innovation at scale.

  • Promote team collaboration and a positive work environment by facilitating design workshops, discussions, and provide design feedback.

Qualifications

Required

  • 6+ years of experience in designing and shipping beautiful digital products, ideally within a startup or scale up, preferably with a focus on SaaS or B2B products.

  • Strong portfolio showcasing previous design work, with an emphasis on web and mobile app design, as well as visual design and aesthetic.

  • Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, with a deep understanding of design principles and best practices, including usability, information architecture, typography, etc.

  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to prioritize tasks proactively and to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Excellent written communication and collaboration skills in remote-first environment, with the ability to effectively pitch and defend design direction.

  • Ability to make (qualitative and quantitative) data-informed decisions, test hypotheses, and iterate, even when working with imperfect or incomplete information.

  • Experience in incorporating technical tradeoffs in design decisions.

  • Experience in conducting user research, user interviews and usability testing sessions.

  • Experience in creating and maintaining design systems.

Preferred

  • Working knowledge of frontend development, including HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

Who you are

  • You are curious by nature and love continuous learning.

  • You have a bias towards action.

  • You are a systems thinker.

  • You are detail-oriented.

  • You have an entrepreneurial mindset.

  • You welcome feedback as a gift.

  • You are passionate about digital products, apps and design in general.

  • You have an eye for visual craft and care deeply about typography and layout.

  • You focus on the things that matter and push back on things that don’t.

What we offer

  • Exciting and challenging work: A unique opportunity to develop web-scale technology in a startup environment, with plenty of autonomy and room to grow.

  • Competitive salary and equity: Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including location, qualifications, and experience.

  • Remote work: Feedly is a remote-first startup headquartered in the San Francisco Bay Area. We believe in doing the work we love from the places we love!
