The 4 of us each bring something different and unique to the table. From Hollie's previous life as a creative director to Veronica's experience as a print maker we've all charted our own course to product design. Unsurprisingly as product designers we're laser focused on building interfaces that get sh#t done but also bring just the right amount of joy to our users and customers day.

Our Vibe

We're honest, love feedback and can get a little quirky. We celebrate each one of our talents and skills while continuously improving and asking ourselves what can be doing better. We spend a lot of time together as a design team, no design problem is too little for us to apply quality and care.

We're deeply collaborative as a design team: We have a unique working style with daily design time blocked in the calendar. Once a week, we use this time for an official crit, but most of the time, it's used as we need to collaborate, brainstorm, give and get feedback and get to know each other better. Once a month, we use the Friday design team time to officially retro and introspect on our process and overall team wellbeing.

We value feedback, like A LOT: We've also recently introduced a Design Studio every two weeks. Which besides the amazing playlist is a short meeting that showcases all the design work from actively in engineering to the crazier exploratory design projects giving anyone in the tech org the ability to surf our FigJam and give us ideas and feedback.

We believe in objective career planning and tracking. We've developed a unique Career Planner that is based on the great foundation Figma's design team uses. The planner is used to focus each designer on a monthly theme that ladders into their overall plan for their skills.

We use Figma, FigJam, Zeroheight, Notion and Slack all day. We also love getting closer to our users and customers by watching Gong.io calls, session replays with Microsoft Clarity and of course as much data as we need with Pendo and Google Analytics.

We're in the midst of establishing our new design system, a organization wide effort we're making huge progress. We have a working group called the DS.org that includes design, product and engineering. Hollie leads our efforts from the design team.

As a company our values drive everything we do. We've distilled our org and company values down into three clear principles we care about most deeply:

1. Crafty-ship: We're crafts people first, we do deep on quality. We don't need an excuse to be designers doing design things. We are proud of our work or we keep going until we are. We know theres always ways to improve ourselves and our work.

2. Architects: We're system builders, we spot patterns and opportunities to solve problems more thoroughly than might be expected. We take the time to be consistent and diligent about the future of our work.

3. Integrators: We are fiercely collaborative and it shows in how we're the connectors, the conduit through which problems get solved, people connect their ideas to reality and our users get a voice that is heard throughout our organization.
