In this position, you’ll own multiple product areas and be responsible to help shape product directions, prototype new concepts, and own design end-to-end through implementation. You’ll be comfortable balancing insights from users, data, and product vision to craft coherent and elegant solutions that bring the most value to users. You’ll collaborate closely with the leadership team, product engineering and research & data science to execute on important initiatives as well as work with other functions including marketing and community to deliver your work to users in the most impactful way possible. There are unlimited unique and exciting challenges at Character that require someone with natural product & UX sense, technical aptitude, great taste and craft.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop high-fidelity user interfaces and user experience designs across desktop and mobile

  • Collaborate closely with engineers, research science, leadership, marketing, community and other partners.

  • Manage multiple ongoing projects & initiatives, and effectively prioritize work in a fast-paced and quickly changing environment.

  • Help to continue to develop, maintain, and evolve Character’s brand, design system and language.

  • Help establish a culture and development processes for best in class product design and quality.

  • Communicate and craft every detail of new product features from idea to user experience, to pixel-perfect execution.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience as a UI/UX designer with at least 3 years on consumer-facing software applications.

  • Demonstrated portfolio of shipping amazing experiences that have made a clear and significant impact on consumer and business metrics.

  • Excellent visual, UI, and interaction skills

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, such as the ability to communicate design concepts and processes to team members and stakeholders and receive feedback

  • Track record of working independently in large ambiguous areas and can balance between craft, speed, and user value.
