Introduce us to your team
We're a tight-knit team of 6 designers and researchers working across the Brilliant experience. We meet regularly to help and support each other, stay aligned, and push our product forward. We collaborate and work closely with partners from product, engineering, content, and marketing.
We're located across the US and meet in person at offsites a couple of times a year. Here are some scenes from our team offsite in April 2022:
What is your team mission?
At Brilliant, our mission is to inspire and develop people to achieve their goals in STEM – one person, one question, and one small commitment to learning at a time. As designers and researchers, we seek to create systems that will support an active approach to learning.
Folks at Brilliant have a wide range of backgrounds in learning STEM, from expert to novice, but we're all aligned on the importance of math and science education and our belief that helping people unlock this knowledge is empowering and impactful for society.
What is the product you’re building?
We make a product for learners of all ages that's fun, funny, and interactive. Our target users are young to mid-career adults, looking to excel at work or in school.
Courses on Brilliant are made up of bite-sized lessons where you learn through interaction. Our focus is on teaching people how to think and solve problems, not learning formulas and techniques by rote memorization.

We're also a creative bunch who like to make things! Here's a sampling.
Habib spent a year studying type design in the Letterform Archive's Type West program. His final project Monasterio, a display serif typeface in four styles, was inspired by the sculptor of the same name. 👌
