Applied Intuition
What is your team mission?
Our goal is to make every vehicle in the world continuously safer and smarter.
We do this by building tools for engineers who work at top automotive and autonomy companies (eg. Toyota, GM, Motional, Kodiak) to help them develop and test the safety of their vehicles.
What is the product you’re building?
It’s our role as Product Designers at Applied to understand the deeply complex workflows of our users—software engineers who develop autonomous vehicles (AVs).
We talked to our friends at Figma about some of these challenges and our approach to solve them:
Here are some examples of how autonomous vehicle engineers use Applied's software:
-
“If the safety driver hadn’t taken control, would our truck have been able to avoid an accident?”
-
“Are the road lanes and stop signs in our maps located correctly and up to date with the real world?”
-
“How does rain interfere with our car’s ability to accurately identify other vehicles around it?”
And a few screenshots from across our products:
To get a better understanding, you can also read our highly technical and in-depth explanation of how we help our users discover errors in their vehicle before they cause real-world problems:
