About
Toronto-based designer and visual artist.
My focus over recent years has been on crafting products for startups in web3, fintech, mental health, and social networking industries. I bring a wealth of experience in leading design projects, managing design systems, and infusing UX practices into my user interface designs.
When I'm not designing, however, I'm usually experimenting with a bunch of mediums from illustrative designs to 3d art to photography.
Projects
At Ribbon, an innovative professional networking platform, my role as a contributing designer was pivotal in driving core feature development from concept to launch, fueling its growth to over 100k+ active users.
My responsibilities encompassed ideation, wireframing, high-fidelity design, and overseeing the launch of crucial features like Onboarding + User Settings, Achievements Feed, Awards Directory, an Award Creation Flow, and Customizable User Profiles. I also established an extensive component library to ensure design consistency across various Figma files, streamlining the product development pipeline for seamless scalability and improved collaboration.
Stelo aimed to enhance cryptocurrency safety amidst widespread phishing and scams. Initially launched as a Chrome extension (with over 10k downloads), Stelo Explore emerged as a branch-off product, enabling users to create and execute secure transactions effortlessly. As a contributing designer, my focus was implementing features for Stelo Explore, including a trending/personal dashboard for blockchain transactions, and enhancing the overall UX of the transaction composer.
At Overlooked, a social network combatting disinformation, I led UX enhancements from earlier iterations, revamping features such as onboarding, news feed, user profiles, and settings. Additionally, I led the design of landing pages and contributed to brand development, ensuring a seamless user experience for accessing reliable news across the platform.
Work Experience
I've had the privilege of collaborating on and leading projects for diverse clients in the Web3, Fintech, and Mental Health sectors, working with companies such as Ribbon, Overlooked, Stelo, Lumen Energy, Pioneer Mind, and more.
At Airfoil, I oversaw end-to-end product design, managed client relations, and applied my expertise in UX, design systems, and visual design. This approach drove substantial audience growth and boosted brand value, paving the way for market success.
In addition to my ongoing commitment to learning and fostering company growth, I actively participated in numerous industry events. Some notable ones include the Blockchain Futurist Conference, Women in Web3 Toronto, Webflow + DesignX, and the Collision Conference.
At Epilogue, a startup dedicated to democratizing estate planning for Canadians, I served as the sole Product Designer, enhancing the platform to facilitate easy online will creation for Canadians.
I actively shaped the user experience, delivering high-fidelity designs while closely collaborating with the engineering team to swiftly deploy mobile and web features using agile sprints.
By spearheading critical feature designs, I implemented solutions that significantly lowered user drop-off rates and increased the number of users reaching checkout, leading to notable sales growth. Additionally, I conducted extensive user interviews and testing, significantly refining the end-to-end process.
Led a design team to create a bespoke front-end framework and component library. Already adopted by all UHN research facilities.
Modernized information architecture and UX/UI by rebuilding 6 core websites from scratch. This included high-fidelity prototyping to development using HTML5 and CSS.
As a Teaching Assistant, I facilitated a second-year course, imparting comprehensive knowledge in UX design and development to students. I shared expertise in front-end development and design principles, encompassing HTML/CSS, design fundamentals, layout strategies, typography, color theory, and device accessibility.
My role involved conducting personalized 1:1 mentorship sessions, offering constructive feedback on assignments, and providing guidance during lab sessions. Through active engagement and support, I aimed to empower students to master essential skills in the dynamic field of UX design and development.
