My writing with these daily episodes is never a final thought, there is a bigger change that I'll change my view completely in a week, or even a day!
I find groups interesting. The e/acc & EA debate that is ongoing is one filled with egos. I tweeted this morning:
"I'm all for innovation, but the god complex of some e/acc people is interesting."
While discussing this with someone outside of tech, she simply said: "Looks like narcissism," and that's probably right.
Stratechery had a great nuanced story on e/acc, worth your time:
That this is spoiling the Internet [AI] is perhaps the best hope for finding our way back to what is real. Let the virtual world be one of customized content for every individual, with the assumption it is all made-up; some may lose themselves to the algorithm and AI friends, but perhaps more will realize that the only way to survive online is to pay it increasingly little heed.
The Ready Player One comparison is interesting because if you look at the timeline of some e/acc people, they really want to live in a game; they've already built the car.
I don’t listen to many podcasts anymore, and lately it becomes clear why; I was and still am tired of all the opinions. It’s more and more a game for attention (probably always was), which makes most people inauthentic.
It’s all a bit of a costume party, an amusement park.
Everything compounds, including ego.
And what's that?
A bird's nest.
