Learning how to be more impactful and deliver value

A details orientated and holistic minded thinker with over 12 years of experience across a broad range of industries and products spanning the web and native mobile apps.

I’m interested in using design and technology to first understand and then improve people’s lives experientially and as a result generate successful business outcomes.

Projects

2021

Culture Trip launched a small group, multi-day stop, trips product in early September. The result of a 6-month long, collaborative cross team discipline effort.

I focused on the Trip details page of our website specifically, working on the itinerary section of the Trip details page and a framework for generating static map assets for all 33 launch trips. I collaborated with our Travel team to build out a mini design system in Figma that let us easily export static map assets for our chosen itineraries.

I also collaborated with our external development agency, Codegen, on the Trip email templates that get sent to customers when they've booked or cancelled a trip.

2020

The Creator App is a marketplace for Culture Trip freelancers (read Creators) to find, track and deliver work.

Our ambition was to create a competitive marketplace for our freelance creators as well as reduce content production costs for the company by automating and streamlining content processes.

My involvement included taking a series of ideas from a workshop that was run with internal stakeholders to development ready designs and specs. I refined the wireframe ideas and split test the best options in an unmoderated user test. From those results, I developed a visual style for the product and designed core flows for users to accomplish tasks like first time logging in, claiming and un-claiming tasks, viewing task briefs etc. I also took notes in a series of moderated interviews with 4 creators when the product was ready to soft launch and synthesised the results into insights that could help us improve the product past MVP launch.

I later designed a deadlines feature to encourage and motivate Creators to complete work on schedule. I also designed how un-claiming and reclaiming a task would work, both from a UI perspective and technical systems perspective together with engineers on the team. I also explored how adding monetary incentives in the UI would motivate Creators further.

Later, it was decided to reskin the Creator App so that it appeared more like the branded consumer website, so I restyled the visual design so that it aligned with our updated Design System.

2019
Yantra at The Culture Trip

Yantra grew as an internal project that allowed stakeholders to programmatically manage ad slots on our pages at Culture Trip. This desire grew more as our ad strategy became more complex and sophistacted, and we lacked the tools to manage our ads at scale.

I designed a banner framework that the front-end of Yantra would manage and I also designed a fun little icon to express Yantra within the company.

As a result of this work, various teams within the company were able to add dynamic ads programatically in different slots that were added to templates throughout the website. This sped up the entire workflow of building marketing campaigns.
