visual storytelling in Vancouver, BC, he/him

About

I am a photographer and videographer based in Vancouver, BC. My expertise is listening and working together with you to tell the story that makes the most impact. And all the other aspects that come with it too.

Work Experience

2020 — Now
Vancouver, BC

I work with the Creative Services team to provide the photo and video content that lives on multiple platforms: multiple social media channels, email newsletters, traditional TV & print advertising, and radio. I aim to tell stories that highlight the agency of individuals who have gone through life’s journey, and partner with them to share their story in creative ways.

2014 — 2019
Vancouver, BC

I grew the visual storytelling capabilities of the company, which was a first in the shipping industry. Working with multiple departments in a multi-national, publically traded company, I helped bolster Teekay’s reputation as a safe and sustainable shipping company through crafting human-centred stories, mixed with the vastness of the shipping industry that Teekay was in, as well as being proficient in delivering quick yet quality videos that delivered financial and industry information for both internal and external stakeholders.

Projects

2022
Campaign Photography at Burnaby Citizen's Association

As the official campaign photographer for the Burnaby Citizen's Association, I worked together with the campaign manager to direct, schedule, shoot and edit a variety of events and assets needed for BCA's successul municipal elections in Burnaby BC. I worked closely and on the fly with the team to ensure quality photos, including official campaign headshots were ready and available for any news and media requirements.

2019

Overseeing the photo and video team covering the event, I brought together the team of 7 - 4 photographers, 3 videographers - to cover an energetic night of music hosted by church: untitled in Vancouver. Ensuring each aspect of the event had coverage, and thinking ahead for all the deliverables, I directed the angles, the positioning, and all coverage of the night, and delivered a quality library of images, and an impactful recap video, used to promote more events in the city.

2019

Hired to capture JDC West 2019, hosted by SFU, I successfully led a team of three other photographers, documenting the 4 day event which took place all over lower mainland, and delivering over 2,000 images fully edited wihtin a week, along with same day edits for social media. I oversaw all pre and post production, logistics, rentals, and transport, providing stellar photo coverage of over 25 events scheduled across the three SFU campuses. JDC West saw 13 of Western Canada's top business schools send over 650 of their brightest to compete for the top business school of Western Canada.

Volunteering

2018 — 2021
Vancouver, BC

I created documentary-style videos telling a person’s journey in video form for an annual live event centered around creative storytelling. Over 4 iterations of the event, I produced 7 videos, documenting 7 different peoples’ journey of faith, self-discovery, and triumph in meaningful and personal visual stories. Working with the creative team, I directed, filmed, edited, and delivered each story tailored to each person. Alongside these story pieces, I produced thematic videos, event opening videos, and recap videos, for both live applications and social media sharing.
