Today, fitness apps are sophisticated tools that can help us understand our bodies, track our progress, and optimise our workouts. They have become our personal trainers, nutritionists, and motivators, all in one.
As an avid fitness enthusiasts, we’ve always felt a disconnect between the aesthetic appeal and user experience of fitness trackers and the dynamic, forward-moving world of fitness. While fitness moves forward, many tracking apps still feel like from 2010s with their outdated designs and user experiences. That’s why we decided to create Dropset.
Born from countless hours of tinkering and brainstorming during nights and weekends, Dropset started as a side project between two developer-designer friends.
We are not just developers; we are users, just like you. We understand the importance of a seamless user experience, the satisfaction of a well-designed interface, and the need for accurate and meaningful data. We’ve poured our heart and soul into every line of code, every pixel, and every design decision.
Our mission with Dropset is simple: to create the best fitness tracking app out there. An app that doesn’t just keep up with the times, but sets the pace. An app that values aesthetics and functionality equally, and an app that we, as fitness enthusiasts, would be excited to use every day. On this note, let us present you what we achieved so far!
Welcome to your Dashboard
Central to the Dropset experience is the dashboard screen. We’ve designed it to be your personal fitness command center, providing a snapshot of your fitness journey at a glance.
First, we have the workout tiles. These are your gateway to specific workout sessions. With a simple tap, you can jump right into your chosen workout, whether it’s a heavy lifting session or a high-intensity interval training.
Next, there’s the body metrics feature. This is where you can track vital parameters like weight and body measurements. It’s like having a personal fitness diary.
Finally, we have the KPIs or we call them Stats. These are the metrics that matter most to you. Whether it’s the number of steps you’ve taken, the total volume of your workouts, or the distance you’ve run. You can even set targets on these Stats to track your progress towards your goals.
Let’s track your workout
Whatever you need, we probably got it covered.
Dropset’s workout tracking functionality is all about versatility and customisation. We understand that everyone’s workout is unique, so we’ve ensured our app caters to a variety of tracking needs. Whether you’re logging distance for your morning run, counting sets and reps for your strength training, timing intervals for your HIIT session, or simply checking off completed exercises, Dropset has you covered. We even have a duration timer for those long yoga sessions or extended cardio workouts.
We also support supersets. Plan, track, and execute two or more exercises in a row by linking a superset chain. Simply tap on the link and once you log a set on the first exercise, we will automatically scroll you to the next.
And yes, quite fittingly, Dropset supports dropsets! Plus, you can track your warmups and monitor your Rate of Perceived Exertion (RPE). Every stage of your workout, covered.
We’ve also integrated a smart rest timer. Not only does it keep track of your rest periods between sets, but it also intelligently understands the context of your workout. With a simple tap, it logs your next set, switches to the next exercise, or starts a duration timer.
Plan your next session
Dropset also includes a feature to plan your workout sessions ahead of time. Presented as a timeline, you can easily view your previous sessions and plan for upcoming ones. Just tap the plus icon, and your future workout is set.
Planning doesn’t have to be manual. If you have a workout schedule you’d like to follow, set it directly on a workout. We support two types of schedules: Weekdays (like Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) and Frequency. With the frequency option, simply specify your desired rest days between sessions, and we’ll track it for you.
Growing community
Dropset isn’t just a fitness app, it’s a community. Currently, we have a live chat feature that connects all Dropset users. But we’re not stopping there. We’re planning to expand our social features to include challenges, friends, coaches, leaderboards, and more. We are a fitness community that motivates, supports, and grows together.
