About
Juliana is an interaction and industrial designer; with 6+ years of experience in Design, her work ranges from physical objects to digital experiences over user interfaces. She graduated with a B.S. in Industrial Design from UPB Colombia with an award-winner project that re-thinks the future experience of smart living. After finishing her studies in Advance Product Design at NABA in Milano. She worked as a freelancer helping companies to enhance their visual communication. She also studied at the intersection of art, design, and architecture at Harvard (GSD) under the program “Design Discovery.” Currently, she is working as a Product Design Tutor at The New School and as a Web Interface Designer at Remedy Product Studio based in New York; While also pursuing an MFA in Design and Technology, focusing on user experience, AI, and XR environments at The New School. She also participates as a Product and PiTech Studio student at Cornell Tech.
Exhibitions
Creative Expressions of the Infamously Counter Intuitive showcases artwork and projects created using IBM's Quantum Computers. The exhibition is a collaboration between IBM Quantum and The New School's Innovation Center, featuring 15 unique artworks, including pieces from Russell Huffman, a pioneer in quantum art, and 11 groundbreaking projects from students from the Parsons School of Design incubated through The New School's Quantum Computing Design Jams.

Work Experience
Improved the current company mannequin experience for presenting apparel on website with a more
luxurious and inclusive presentation, while reducing ops costs from photography to ML.
Mentored students in senior design proposals, addressing issues related to the needs of the elderly population and biomimicry studies. Ranging from identifying appropriate technologies
to user experience interfaces.
Designed an interactive learning system for the program of Industrial Design by improving the learning plans that reflected specific goals, design-technical contents, industry strategies, and resources corresponding to the Colombian Ministry of Education.
Spearheaded the visual communication, and design identity, developing a pixel-perfect strategy to become the customer's front-of-mind. Prioritizing inclusivity, empathy, and experience. Enhanced product presentation and design visualization using mockups and mood boards with Colombian-curated elements; meticulous eye on local materials, colors, finishes, and image post-production; While also developing concepts from idea to real architectural projects; producing renderings, report presentations, and prototypes to be presented for the CEO of the company.
Presented furniture & interior design proposals tailored to clients' necessities, rendering compelling photo-real scenarios focused on clients' styles and the company's design language. Developed 3D photo-realistic renders/visualizations, tailored furniture blueprints, and designed new products for special clients (hotels, and restaurants).
Monitored rapid prototyping lab; supporting students' work using 3D printers, CNC, laser cutter, and vinyl plotter; maintaining university protocols and creating a safe place for everyone.
Conducted literature research and assisted in developing a hermeneutical model by articulating philosophical paradigms from modern to contemporary technology-design theories. While also preparing and writing a book publication for the commemoration of the 40 years of the design school at Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana.
Conducted experimental morphology research for the Group of Studies in Design (GED), where I analyzed the impact of flying seeds dispersed by the wind and their efficiency mechanisms in industrial applications to develop bio-inspired products, such as toys and food transportation systems, for rural areas of Colombia. I led the research, coordinated public presentations, and served as one of the two authors of a scientific paper within the university. Additionally, I won the presentation design summit and project innovation of the year.

Focus: human interfaces, UX-UI, creative coding, accessible product design, interactive experiences, and memorable design solutions that are intuitive and delightful.
Transdisciplinary year developing ideas that respond to the strategic business needs of real companies and organizations in collab with Cornell Tech MBA, LLM, MS Computer Science, and Parsons students (Communication Design & Design - Technology MFA). Industry and User Research, Value Proposition, Product Management, Design Strategy, Data Visualization, Business Model, Derisking Operations, Testing Prototypes, and Behavioral Data Analysis.
Explored knowledge in urban planning and architecture, founding interest in parallel disciplines that complement my knowledge in product design and user experience. I referenced authors, tutors, and co-workers with whom I built an academic network developing strategies and possibilities on how we could create holistic design solutions, that impacted people's lives by implementing new spaces and architectonical configurations.
Exchange program with a focus on creative thinking through exploring form, function, and interaction; Envisioning user-centered experiences that are intuitive, innovative, and that people love to use. The course gave me an overall vision of the art of lighting and its related functions from a technical and stylistic point of view. Provided me with the tools to carry out a lighting project in a wide variety of different spaces. Lectures, field trips (Expo Milano 2015), and guided museum visits focused on the subject of light, user experience, and Italian design both in theory and in practical terms.
Focus: improving people's lives through seamless products that delight and inspire minds. Research, design, and develop new user's interactions impacting how we sense, think about, behave with, and embrace objects.
