Work Experience

2021 — Now
Consultant at Islamic Relief UK
London

Currently consulting Islamic Relief UK on the production of their first podcast, seeking to champion the voices and experiences of those working to combat poverty globally. Conducting the end-to-end production of 15 interview-based podcast episodes for launch in mid-July.

2018 — 2020

Working with the start-up to amplify the voices of Muslim women. Established, hosted and produced an award winning podcast, including seven original series. Additionally spearheaded the production of innovative and far-reaching content, including articles and SM assets across our digital and offline platforms. To elaborate:

  • Audio Production and Awards:
    Established Amaliah’s award-winning podcast from the ground up. Awarded Gold at the Audible Audio Production Awards, as well as a nomination from the British Podcast Awards. I produced seven original audio series’, complementing the diversity and varied interests of the Amaliah audience, attesting to the range in my content production abilities. During my employment I secured a partnership between the podcast and ACAST, and conducted a workshop for Spotify ‘Sound Up’ podcast bootcamp, of which 50% of consulted attendees went on to have their podcasts commissioned by the BBC.

  • Creative Direction, Copywriting / Editing and SM Management:
    Expert engagement with key stakeholders for Amaliah’s publishing arm with the aim of pushing innovative, engaging and diverse articles. My expert editing and outsourcing of articles contributed to a digital footprint of over 4.2 million globally. Additionally, I creatively directed and produced audiovisual assets, artwork and copy for Amaliah’s social media channels.

  • Project Management:
    Efficient project management of large and small scale digital and offline events. Selected achievements include coordinating London’s biggest Halal street food festival, ‘Street Eats’ hosted by Halal Gems (sister company to Amaliah), tackling a footfall of 90,000 visitors.

2018 — 2019
Creative Producer at Weconvey / AWMA Studios

Copywriting, editing and project management services for a London-based design studio with a track record of award-winning content for various leading brands, charities and organisations. Responsibilities included:

  • Project Coordination:
    Assisted the coordination of commercial client projects at both WeConvey and AWMA design studios. Built a database of brand partnerships, sponsorships and funding applications.
    Ideation: Collaborated with the studio on the vision for their sister studio, AWMA, regularly hosting ideation meetings and producing copy for design competitions, including London Brixton Design Trail.

  • Copywriting/Editing:
    Producing copy for in-house content and client projects, (IERA, Penny Appeal, HUGGS, Tangle Teezer and justgiving.com).

2016 — 2018
Project and Content Manager at INAYAH / Oliviah Ltd

Providing project management and content production for a faith-based lifestyle platform and a leading global modest-wear brand, focusing on community diversity and wellbeing. Additionally:

Project Management: Coordinating the opening of INAYAH’s first UK pop-up store at Westfield London, and producing Oliviah’s first successful Youtube mini-series; 30 faith-based 10-minute videos for their Ramadan campaign.
Ideation: Employed by the company to assist in development of new company and sister brand to leading modest-wear brand INAYAH. At Oliviah, I built the company’s mission statement, brand identity and content platforms.
Content Creation and Management: Responsible for multiple departments, producing original content for website, blog, socials and hardcopy assets for both Oliviah and INAYAH’s worldwide customer base, including audiovisual assets.
