Improving the search experience in the app through experimentation and refinement

2019 — 2023
London
  • Built custom payments integration 'Depop Payments' using Stripe; introducing various payment methods, onboarding flows, a seller hub, and receipt screen improvements.
  • Led iOS development of features to reduce friction when making a purchase decision including adding an address auto-complete feature, a one-tap buy with Apple Pay button, and running 40 A/B tests to optimise the UI/UX of the Bag and Checkout screens.
  • Helped facilitate over £322M in gross volume transacted on the platform.
2017 — 2019

  • Implemented a comprehensive Help Center in the app, integrating with Zendesk to surface help articles and provide reporting flows. This reduced the percentage of transactions resulting in user support tickets from 17% to 11%.
  • Developed a web app to integrate with Zendesk Support dashboard and surface useful information about reported transactions. This was a side-project of my own initiative which helped me earn a 'Top of Depops' employee award.
  • Contributed to Depop 2.0 rebranding, including overhauling the design system and building a new Activity Feed screen in the app.
2017 — 2017

  • Completed rotations in QA, Android, iOS, Backend, DevOps, and Growth teams, learning about various aspects of software development.
  • Completed projects including a proof of concept iOS application for training a user banning machine learning model, updating the transactional HTML email templates, and creating a web interface to list docker containers for microservices.
