Work Experience

2009 — 2013
San Francisco, CA

As the founding designer, I spent the first 18 months doing all of the design work for the company by myself. Early projects include the logo, company name ideation, Series A deck, UI and service design for the whole Square experience.

Later on, I helped scale the design team, redesigned the point of sale experience numerous times, oversaw the development of an expanding Square brand, and took on the task of designing our first experimental consumer experience: Card Case, aka Pay with Square, aka Square Wallet.

In 2012, as Creative Director of Square, I helped Square acquire the design agency 80/20 to help us with our product design needs as a growing company. Later in 2013, I started prototyping Square Cash aka Cash App.

2007 — 2009
Cupertino, CA

I was hired at 19 to join Apple full-time as a visual designer on the .Mac team. As a visual designer, I focused on creating visual UI design systems and iconography that was consistent across all of the MobileMe experience.

I also designed the original Find My iPhone icon.

2003 — 2007
UI Visual Designer at Freelance

Early clients include Last.fm, Tumblr, and numerous indie Mac apps. I also designed and co-created one of the first mobile apps for the iPhone, PocketTweets, within days of the original iPhone launch.
