About
I'm a designer, writer and education. I'm currently Head of Design & Strategy at 18F, where I lead one of the largest in-house design teams in the federal government. My background is in information architecture, UX strategy, and service design.
My personal practice is focused on systems logistics, optimizing service ecosystems, and developing hands-on clinical approaches to intractable problems. I've written extensively on consequence design and the interplay of technology and civic life and speak around the world on these topics.
Outside of work, I'm a non-profit board President, radio news anchor, lapsed trivia host, vinyl collector, skeeball pro and state championship winning high school tennis coach.
Once, I designed a sport & despite the google searches to the contrary, I'm not actually Finnish.
