About
I am Rahul R Nadkarni. As a huge fan of Apple, I would be intrigued by every new product launch and softwares they come up with. This gave me a sense of minimalistic aesthetics. I tried exploring in the field of Design, and here I am attending an Institute of National Importance in India, gaining a formal education for design.
Projects
A team of 3, where my role was to start with secondary research, get involved in observation and interview of audience, and finally come up with a user centric solution for the existing Glucometer, considering the Indian market. This project allowed us to solve the issue of the complicated process of using a glucometer, and making it easily usable, even for an old poorly educated person, accounting for accessibility features too, like regional language speakers.
Co-authored research on “Postural analysis and review of the unergonomic working conditions of desert cooler fabrication plants in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh” in a team of 10 along with a mentor. This gave us an insight into the different issues faced by the fabrication workers, majorly due to repitition and postural load.
Work Experience
As an intern, I Created Graphics for ads, social media and prints. My major task was to build their whole website from scratch using the Design process. The final design was targeted to the B2B customers and resulted in the growth of our SEO, allowing the company to gain more trust from the customers.
Not Funny is an upcoming Sub Brand of Scott International. I was tasked with finding User Centric issues in their mobile application, which was used by the customers to place orders. This reduced the number of steps involved in the process, and hence accounted for a better user experience.
My role here was to work on the UX research, make graphic content for social media, and develop the User interface for their website, collaborating with a team of Designers and Programmers.
Volunteering
My role was to re-design the existing webpage of the Club, manage different design teams of various different events under the club, sharing UI & UX concepts through hands on experience with projects. Guide a team with designing themes for events. This allowed for the youngsters to learn from my personal experience, and also helped me to see things in their lenses too, making it a learning experience for me as well.
As one of the elected 3 from our batch to be the placement co-ordinator, my role is to assist the Placement cell of our institute in finding job opportunities for the Design discipline of our institute, and also organise events for the same. My role would also include being the voice of our batch, while communicating and solving any kind of disputes and queries directly with the placement cell.
