Due to the enormous increase of information in our society, it is not a surprise that our future is getting more and more complex. Every day we face a greater amount of information and challenges. Customers will stop perceiving and understanding a lot of available information, as the half-life of information seems to decrease by half every year. It is increasingly difficult to understand the scope of technology and functionalities and likewise, it gets more difficult to compare or select from an available product range.

I am often confronted with the question, “which laptop is currently state-of-the-art and is the best performing product?” An easy-to-answer question? If you are not keeping up with the latest developments, processors and details, it can be quite tough to determine which model to choose.

Let’s simplify this question by looking at the people, who pose it. Most often people who ask me for this advice need a solid office product, want to surf the web and write emails. We can match these requirements with the technical performance of current notebooks. It is safe to say that virtually every laptop currently on the market will meet these requirements. Was it difficult to find this answer?

For this reason, the simplification of information will be further integrated into our daily lives. Nevertheless, it will still be possible to counteract. I will show you how to design information for the target audience in an intuitive, receivable, simple and emotional way making it brain-conform.

Information always has an end, as information is comprised solely of bits and bytes. Emotions only arise in our minds and only through emotions is our interest peeked. For this reason all information needs to be either

In order for people to pick it up and understand it instantly. This holds especially true for products, processes and services in our everyday work lives, as work needs to be done in an efficient and rapid manner. User hurdles entail inefficiency. Simplicity is also key in advertising — the target audience has to understand and process the message within seconds. Or:

##### **2. Emotional**

There must be emotion in order for people to feel addressed and motivated. This is of particular importance and touches the areas of marketing, advertising and general design of information. The first impression is critical when it comes to the ultimate purchase decision.

*In fact, whenever emotional needs are addressed, information also has to be simple in order for it to be directly perceived. This leads us to:*

Let’s draw our attention to an important fact: *We cannot spark emotions or direct interest for our information within other people*. Such interest is always self-motivated and peeks within the respective person looking at the information. For this reason we can only create the conditions and the right setting to evoke emotions and spark interest.

* If you are single and are being offered, via an advertisement, an engagement ring on Facebook, you will hardly notice the advertisement.

* A newsletter that will not fit into your field of interest will most likely be deleted before you have even perceived the entire subject line, or will lead to an immediate un-subscription, if you open it.

Through simplicity in processes and emotionality, motivation is triggered within us, or in many cases demotivation and the consequent ‘information blindness’ can be circumvented.

##### Our brain only works through motivation and interest.

We work, think, become creative and propose solutions for everyday situations or for professional applications.

– We all are capable of learning, but inconvincible;\
– We all do not learn when we have to learn, but when we want to learn;\
– We change our behavior only, When we choose to do so ourselves,\
– And when we see the actual reason.

SIMPLE = Reducing to the essentials within the context of experience of tasks, in order to enable us to process information more rapidly (Usability).

EMOTIONAL = Creating connections in order to store information more easily and facilitate the conversion into long-term memory (Experience).

When both areas are combined, we refer to the “**User Experience**” or “**Customer Experience**” of products, services or even entire businesses when these connotations get integrated into the overall corporate strategy. Given that completely different job profiles have arisen within these areas, looking at these two concepts in greater detail and discussing the differences is essential. This is paramount in order to grasp the connections and linkage between the various subject areas.

Design users brain conform

Mobility has already become mainstream interface for applications and end users, even the most complex and heavy applications are converging to be fully compatible to these devices, but supporting mobility comes with technical and hardware constraints such as memory space, processing speed and small display screen sizes. These constraints force applications to compromise on user experience. As part of software development till now we have been able to adapt in order to improve processing and memory utilization, but the small screen sizes on mobile devices has always been a challenge.

#### **Introduction**

3D graphics and VR ( Virtual Reality ) has always been a fascinating topic in computer science, but in last decade it has grown exponentially more powerful, realistic and at the same time easy to use too. Growing research in these fields both academics and IT companies have provided a very strong base and opportunities for their usage in various unexplored fields and mobility being one of them.

In current trend all web or desktop applications need to have mobility support due to the advantages that mobile devices themselves provides, small, light and mobile. In order to support mobility, applications need to overcome technical and hardware constraint such as limited memory, slow processing power and small display screens. Limited memory and slow processing powers can be resolved by adopting efficient coding practices, but small screens cause’s applications to compromise on user experience by limiting data details or user interaction capabilities.

The idea proposes a new user experience design approach (3DHTML-Web) to bring 2D and 3D content under a single 3D virtual context environment to provide a wide virtual view to the end user, thus allowing applications to provide large detailed data through the same small screens. Complete 3D virtual environment would also allow applications to be future compatible with touchless VR technologies which majorly reply on content to be in 3D context and provide a very engaging, different and seamless user experience.

#### **Problem**

There are two problem statements addressed

**1. Limited Viewable Area Due to Small Screen Sizes in Mobility Devices**

Web applications adaptation of mobility has caused them to change UI ( User Interface) design approach and become dynamically adaptive to various screen sizes, but with complex applications came problem of accommodating and representing the large set of information on these small screens.

**2. Fragmented User Experience with Combination of 2D And 3D Objects Content**

Representing 3D objects in 2D contextual environment has always resulted in reduced usability and fragmented user experience, where user continuously switch between 2D and 3D user interfaces. To provide a seamless and user friendly UX ( User Experience), this fragmentation needs to be eliminated while maintain the advantage that 3D objects/model brings to the end-user.

#### **Proposal**

**3DHTML —** Web is a user experience design approach to represent HTML elements as 3D/2D objects in a pre-defined controlled 3D virtual environment, which can be made accessible over web through web browsers. It transforms the user experience to three dimensional using modern browser based lightweight 3D rendering technologies such as webGL or CSS3, this allows the application to provide a new enhanced user experience through the existing web browsers.

**3DHTML — WEB DESIGN ALGORITHM**

**1. Identifying the Story** : Identify the scenario where the end user would be benefited if interacting within a 3D environment. Generally where end user interacts with combined 2D and 3D data are the prominent candidate, whereas even traditional applications whose majorities of user interaction are based on tables, list and graphs can also be benefited by this design.

**2. Objects Classification** : Classification of various application intractable objects as 2D or 3D. This classification helps in scene and environment preparation.

**3. Environment Layout** : Environments define the boundaries of the user interaction and the look & feel application want the end user to visualize them in.

**4. Define the Scene** : Scene can be considered as a step by step inaction of a story (Business goal/Scenario). Scene preparation consists of following 2 steps

***–** Scene Steps Extraction*: Scene steps are the end user way finding to reach the end goal (success or failure).

***–** Scene Sequencing* : This defines the actual sequencing of steps that user need to complete to finish the story. This can be blocking sequence where the user cannot move forward/backward before performing some operation or Non-blocking that allows the user to move back and forward any time as needed.

**5. Define User Interaction** : How the User would interact with the environment and the objects inside it. Basic user interaction rules to have a consistent experience for the end user

**3DHTML — USER EXPERIENCE DESIGN APPROACH**

3DHTML Web design can be easily implemented usingany light weight browser rendering technologies; among those currently widely used in the industry is THREE.js , it internally uses WebGL. THREE provides wide variety of utility and rendering options, in context of 3DHTML web design the WebGLRenderer and CSSJRenderer options available in THREE can be used for rendering 3D and 2D content respectively.

#### **Conclusions**

3DHTML — Web design approach provides the basic algorithm to combine 2D and 3D content inside a 3D virtual contextual environment in order to enhance the user experience and resolve screen size constraint. It also allows traditional applications which majorly deal with 2D content such as table, forms and graphs to become compatible with modern touchless virtual reality technologies.

3DHTML – Proposal of new design approach

I was listening to my daily podcast and suddenly heard a term – Choice Theory. Immediately I started to dig deep about the term what I heard. In return, I found out that it is one of the two main psychotherapy models. So here is my basic understanding on Choice Theory.

The theory believes that all the aspects of our behavior ( thoughts, feelings, physiological reactions and actions ) are the choices of our own. In comparison, feelings and physiological responses are more difficult to impose intervention, but we have more freedom to choose our thoughts and actions and it creates an impact on feelings and physiological responses. Our choice determines how we give back to it.

Regardless of external influences, all our behaviors come from our inner drive. We all are limited by our own choices and all behaviors are made by choices one after another. Our actions are also a choice, though we may not realize it ourselves. 

I think you must have heard of the behavioral patterns of “co-dependence” or “empowerment”. They come from our excessive participation in the process of other people or unawareness of our own inner process. 

The choice theory is the exact opposite of these two behaviors. It claims that we are fully responsible for our internalization process and also give others full freedom. In this theory, all problems are to some extent relationship problems, and those kind of problems are also a problem.

The choice theory believes that humans have five basic needs ..

* Freedom

* Power

* Fun

* Love

* A sense of belonging and security

Though our behaviors are different, these five needs still run through our lives from beginning to end and behaviors are always generated around satisfying these five needs. For example, when babies are born, they have only low fun needs ( maybe 2/5 ), a high need to be loved ( 5/5 ) and a high need for belonging ( 5/5 ) and a relatively high need for power ( maybe 4/5 ). 

Now you can try to give yourself a score of 5 points. These needs remain the same throughout life, but how we meet these needs is constantly changing. Lets take an example, that the way you think about everything is totally different from how you were thinking few years back or a youth before. Its the continuous process which overlaps based on acceptance and recognition from your group.

Behavior always caters to our own needs to the greatest extent and all behaviors are purposeful. Basically, there is a good reason for everything you do. Needs are fixed and those don’t need to be changed but what we can choose is – how to meet those needs.

Okay, lets make above academic explanation more simpler by the following “Ten Laws of Choice Theory”.

* The only person whose behavior we can control is our own.

* All we can give another person is information.

* All long-lasting psychological problems are relationship problems.

* The problem relationship is always part of our present life.

* What happened in the past has everything to do with what we are today, but we can only satisfy our basic needs right now and plan to continue satisfying them in the future.

* We can only satisfy our needs by satisfying the pictures in our Quality World.

* All we do is behave.

* All behavior is ‘Total Behavior’ and is made up of four components : acting, thinking, feeling and physiology.

* All ‘Total Behavior’ is chosen, but we only have direct control over the acting and thinking components. We can only control our feeling and physiology indirectly through how we choose to act and think.

* All Total Behavior is designated by verbs and named by the part that is the most recognizable.
